I’m proud of being born in Yakutia.

On the north-eastern part of Russia there is a large and the most cold region in the world called Yakutia. It is my Motherland! Within its borders would fit 6 Frances or 13 Englands! Capital of the Sakha Republic is Yakutsk.  It was founded in 1632 in the Tuymaada valley. The house of my ancestors is standing there. Yakutsk as a modern city now, is the   economic, industrial, cultural, scientific and sportive centre. It grows day after day and becomes one of the best cities in the Far East of Russia.

It’s a unique region in Siberia. We can admire with Lena’s Pillars, a chef d’oeuvre of nature, the Mountain “Kihileekh”, the lake with a miracle “Labynkyr” and with its diamond of course! Many tourists visit them every year. They come to see the beauty of wild nature of my republic and they spend unforgettable days of their lives.

In Russia winter begins from Yakutia! It’s severe and long. There are many snows. It’s splendid as a yakut diamond. And we wait when the first snow will fall! Then we play at snowballs., toboggan and ski. We’re proud of our winter. It’s a brand of Yakutia! Come and suprise of its cold and white snow. Taste our delicious dish “stroganina”.

I was born in one of its beautiful natural corner Amma. Amma is famous of its wonderful wild nature, rich history and cereals. In autumn we can be delighted with  the yellow fields with heavy harvest .The symbol of our district is a red flower sardaana. You can “meet” with it in summer. In June, fields, banks of the river Amma are full of red flowers-sardaana, the symbol of beauty of our ulus! Summer is a nice season of the year. In our places the summer  is very hot. In June we have “white nights”. I like them very much! And our national holiday –Yssyakh, that takes place in June too. It’s a grandiose holiday where we meet the coming of summer. Many guests can know the national culture, traditions and customs of Sakha people taking part in it. We’re proud of our Olonkho, that became a masterpiece of UNESCO and a charming sound of khomus, the meeting of the rising of the sun.

My native village Sulgachchy stands along the bank of the pittoresque river Amma. The purity of water of this river we can compare with nothing! It’s full of various fish. And we can swim with feeling. There are many sacred and interesting places of seeing: the mountains “Kharama”, “Ente”,”Suruktaakh”, “Sahyl Syhyy”, “Korolenko”, museums, monument etc. We’ll be glad to see you in my ulus!
