“Lost time is never found again”

This statement belongs to B. Franklin. He made this notice in the 18th century. Is it still worth paying our attention?

To my mind, nowadays the problem of losing time is getting much more actual and sometimes even dangerous.

Few months ago I read the story “The Things They Left Behind” written by a modern American writer St. King. Have you read this story? The plot of it greatly impressed me. The story described Nine-Eleven attack when two skyscrapers were destroyed. Almost a year after that terrible for the whole world day strange things started happening to the main character of the story Scott Stale who had worked in one of these buildings. That day he took a day off but the items belonging to his late colleagues suddenly began appearing in Stale’s apartment.  

At last Scott understood his mission: had to give the things to the victim’s family members – and he saw the joy on their faces because Scott assured them that the owners of the things had loved their families and hadn’t accused them of anything.

I strongly feel, the main thing is not that he felt guilty for the victims. But the fact that we waste our time on unimportant things such as quarrelling, shouting at each other instead of living in peace and love with our families and friends and ourselves.

How often do we understand these things in time?

Last year there were a great number of facts of committing suicide by teenagers, members of so-called group “A Blue Whale”. Why did they decide to stop living at the most wonderful time of their youth. Unfortunately, there was no one to advise them what to do in a situation when they thought there was no way out.  They

were absorbed in games instead of spending time with their families and friends. Their parents didn’t have any time to notice the loneliness and fear of their children. What happens to us if we have no time to pay attention to our dearest people?

To sum up, I want to appeal to grownups: “Dear adults! No matter how noisy, cruel, even incredible we are, don’t leave us alone with our problems, please, spend more time with us. We don’t want to waste our time in front of the computers and even say “Good bye!” to our lives. Help us to spend our time correctly!”
