My neighbor’s name is Jack. He is rather small but quiet active. He is funny, energetic, smart and an excellent talker. He is …. a mouse. He’s a simple grey mouse that you can meet in every basement of an old house. But his best feature of character is his faithfulness to his friend.

Jack’s family is not big or small. There are seven in the family but he is the youngest one.

This story as Jack told me was happened before Christmas last year. The day was sunny and frosty. Snowflakes slowly moved to the ground falling in beautiful dance under unknown music. Everything was gloomy and silent. So Jack together with his brother Mike decided to look for a present for the family’s Christmas dinner. They dreamed about a huge piece of cheese or tasty hum. Walking somewhere in the kitchen they suddenly bumped into a fluffy soft subject. It was the tail. It was the cat’s tail. IT WAS A CAT! His green eyes didn’t tell them about Christmas love. They were full of dark evil’s dreams.

Mike immediately understood that it was our end! Two mice were frightened to death. But all’s well that ends well. It wouldn’t be a Christmas story if it ends dark. Jack rushed and bit the cat’s tail. THE CAT WAS SHOCKED! He escaped with a scary shout.

It was the real Christmas present for mice!

This story was told me by my small neighbor on Christmas. He is a well-known deceiver. That’s why I don’t know if it is real or mystical.
