Introduction This presentation is made to the book of a successful English journalist D.Maule: “Inventions that changed the world” It tells us about Inventors, inventions, their history etc. This book tells us about engines, maps, how, why and by whom they were made? It’s intriguing to know for everybody. Every kind of information given here is really exiting ,unique and was written in a very simple way, so it’s quite easy to read.

About David Maule… David Maule is a modern British journalist and publicist, the author of a number of articles on science and scientific innovations. When he was a little child, he was curious and liked to play with toy-cars, toy-trains, toy-ships. And he was always interested in how they operated. To find it out he used to disassemble his toys. He used to dream to become an engineer or a famous inventor. Years passed… His life goals changed a lot. He became interested in literature and journalism. But he never forgot about his childhood dream, which became his hobby. He continued to collect information about inventions and scientific innovations. And one day he realized that it was high time to share his knowledge with other people. That is how this book appeared.

My opinion I’ve read the book by D.Maule: ”Inventions , that changed the world” and I found it really fabulous because of a great variety of information about outstanding inventors and a lot of absorbing facts such as: 1)What did the first Printing machine look like? (picture 1) 2)How can we use the sun for navigation? (picture 2) etc. Every piece of information given there is very exiting ,unique and was written in a very simple way , so it’s quite easy to read. Besides, the book has got a lot of wonderful pictures to illustrate the text. Moreover, all the pictures are black-and-white to create the atmosphere of the past.

CONCLUSION I’ve read a book “Inventions that changed the world” and I found it well worth reading. It is really thrilling. I would strongly recommend it not only for schoolchildren but for adults as well. Do not miss this book, it will change the way you see simple familiar things which we use in our everyday life and hardly think the world used to live without them.
