Personal Statement

My name is Diana Koyshibaeva. I am 14 years old. I live in Moscow, Russia. I am studying at one of the best schools in Moscow and my favorite subjects are English and Literature. At the university I want to study illustration because without the help of the skilled professors I`ll can hardly get the necessary knowledge. After graduation I hope becoming a good international-leveled Illustrator. 

It is my ambition to study in the Academy of Illustration and Design which is situated in Berlin because the program in this university aims at the practice that I will need in real life.

In the childhood the most of my favorite things to do were reading books and drawing. After reading the impressive book I did the illustrations for it. Like this I tried to write my own stories and illustrated it too. I like to create my own characters, their biography, appearance and etc. I would like to study Illustration at university because I want to express myself in the artistic way and show people my vision of the text. I also like going to the museums and to the exhibitions, reading books about interesting architects, artists and designers.

I take seriously my lessons of art and follow tips my teacher gives me. I follow many good illustrators on social media and I borrow something that I like from their pictures.

Studying in AID Berlin is one of my biggest dreams because there I could develop my talent and continue doing what I love the most in the future. Unfortunately I am really creative person. I always come up with the new ideas. The music, books and movies are often becoming the sources of my inspiration. I believe that my life would be empty without art, especially drawing because I think that when we draw we express our emotions, thoughts, feelings. We put our heart and strength into our work and as the result the character is becoming «alive».  My friends are keeping telling me that the characters appearing under my pencil are special, they like have a soul and there is a feeling that they could go out of a picture and walk on the streets of the city.

All the people have problems with their inspiration, but I have it really rare. It can sounds weird but if you could know my life better you could see that there are many interesting stories happening with me at school that my friends can always support me. Thanks to them the days of my life do not look alike. I already mentioned the music. It can create a certain atmosphere where it will be comfortable for me to dive into the work. Sometimes it can be hard to stop me from drawing.

I believe I have the motivation and enthusiasm to study Illustration successfully at your university and to take advantage from all the opportunities being a student will present to me.
