Influence of creativity of Shakespeare on Pushkin’s poetry A deep interest of Russian poet Pushkin for Shakespeare was expressed in ingenious development of Shakespeare’s tradition. Russian Shakespeareanism became an original phenomenon. Shakespeare made a deep impact on literature in Russia and became “the most Russian” foreign author in Russian culture. Already in lifetime criticism Pushkin was sometimes compared to Shakespeare who was a criterion of esthetic perfection and art skill. It was not just following to literature fashion. Under the influence of Shakespeare the mature view of history and people was developed. On Shakespeare/s system Pushkin built a tragedy .

Shakesrearean views were embodied in transposition of play «Measure for measure» into the poem «Angelo» (1833). The poet estimated this work as a top of his creative development. «Our critics haven’t paid attention to this play and consider it is one of my weak compositions whereas the best I have found nothing. In «Angelo» Shakespeareanism reached the highest point of the development. And to this day Shakespeare remains to the most demanded playwright on Russian scene.
