Born in the village Savgachevo During the Patriotic war Vasily Antonovich participated in the first and second Belorussian fronts. In 1944-1945 he stayed in Poland and Germany with the Soviet army. Vasily Antonovich was awarded a Red Star for his heroism. After the war he worked at our school as a teacher. My relatives remember his lessons and and are impressed by his stories about the second World War.

MAY THERE ALWAYS BE SUNSHINE ! I live in a small village Savgachevo. It is my Motherland and I love my native place very much. I consider that I am very patriotic and my tiny village is the best place in the world! There is a monument for the Fallen Soldiers in the centre of our village. Every year we celebrate the Victory Day. It’s a pity, but there are no war veterans in our village already. Many old residents were children during the war, and their life was very difficult. We invite all of them to school on the holiday concert. Young people should not forget the heroes, they must be ready to defend their country against all enemies!
