Творческое задание: В нашем календаре много праздников, а какой бы вы добавили день, который все бы праздновали.

All Poems’ Day.

We celebrate many holidays in our calendar. Most of them are interesting and important. We honor our important dates. People mustn’t forget their history. Learning past we will learn our future.

But I want to add one holiday to our calendar. It is All Poems’ Day. We will celebrate it on the 3rd of February. February is a winter month. It is cold, windy and frosty. In a hurry people sometimes don’t see each other properly; don’t pay attention to their feelings. We need this holiday, All Poems’ Day. I think February is a month of inspiration for lovers of poetry.

This holiday will be devoted to people who like to tell about their feelings through poems. It will be taken in a quiet place, in the countryside. People who like poetry will meet here, in a wooden, comfortable house with a fireplace. I consider that sitting next to the fireplace makes people think a lot of their life. In big cities it will be taken in schools, in the libraries, in special literary centers. Shy poets will be able to send their poems anonymously. And then they will be read on the radio.  

This holiday will have its own traditions. People coming here must wear black suits and hats. They must be alone, without their friends or relatives. The atmosphere of poetry must be calm.

The holiday will begin with the poems that participants have written. They will be able to discuss them. Also, it will be taken a competition. All participants will be given a theme and they must write a poem. In turn they will recite their poems. After that the winner will be given a present. It will be the book with poems by contemporary poetry. On this holiday everyone will be able to share with their thoughts, give each other poems and enjoy poetry.
