My Native City
A man travels the world over in search of
what he needs, and returns home to find it.
Thomas Moor
What does the Motherland begin with?
There is not a shadow of doubt Khabarovsk is my home, sweet home. It is not very big like other great cities, but it is my native place where I am living and studying. Some people visiting Khabarovsk find it too small or even rather provincial and dullish. They are mistaken! On the one hand Khabarovsk is a tender Far-Eastern rose. On the other hand my city is full of an endless taiga power.
Thus, for example many interesting arrangements, different festivals and grand celebrations are hold in my city. Then you can get a good education of high quality in local institutes and universities. Furthermore there are favourable surroundings for development, beautiful nature for admiring and a strengthen climate for being ready to take any chance in your life. But the most important value of Khabarovsk is its positive and hospitable people.
From time to time I am thinking of improving the life of my city. It seems to me Khabarovsk is short of something. Maybe it is a charity and warmth not only towards helpless people turned out in difficult circumstances but towards homeless animals and wild nature. How eager I am to see the Amur River clean and full-flowing! I would like people to have personal not virtual contacts as much as possible. I don’t want them to be in an eternal hurry…
Nevertheless I am proud of my city. Khabarovsk has got a long and glorious history. Of course, some buildings, streets and squares, its inhabitants with their customs and interests have changed a lot. But I am sure the great efforts of our forefathers put in my country and city will be never forgotten. I think that honorary title of a City of Military glory is a great sign of a profound respect for them.
I have lived in my dearly-loved city since my birthday. All my memories, all my relatives and friends are connected with Khabarovsk. I believe that if I happen to leave my native city, I won’t forget it in any case! I absolutely agree with Bahram Bagirzade’s words, who said, “I’m connected with my city very strong because I’m its continuation”.
