Life Charles Dickens was born on 7 February 1812, at Landport in Portsea, the second of eight children to John and Elizabeth Dickens. His father was a clerk in the Navy Pay Office and was temporarily on duty in the district. Their children and, in particular, his favorite Charlie, Mr. Dickens surrounded by care and kindness. Small, Charles inherited his father's imagination, ease of expression, seems to be adding to it some seriousness of life, inherited from the mother, which fell on the shoulders of all worldly cares to preserve family wealth. “ No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another’”

Life The Dickens family moved from Kent to Camden Town in London in 1822, because of financial difficulties. His father was cast for many years in debtors' prison, the mother had to fight against poverty. Rest of his life Dickens thought it was the ruin of his family and that the greatest insult to polish themselves undeserved and humiliating blow. “ We need never be ashamed of our tears”
