In February 2014 Winter Olympic Games will take place in Sochi.

The first Olympic Games were in ancient Greece in 776 B.C. It was a religious festival devoted to Gods.

The modern Olympic Games were reborn in the nineteenth century. The main symbol of the Olympic Games is five rings: black, red, green, blue and yellow. The motto of the Olympics is “Faster, Higher, and Stronger”.

The mascots of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi are a white hare, a polar bear and a white leopard. Winter Olympic Games in Sochi include 7 sports: luge, biathlon, ice hockey, curling, skiing, skating and bobsleigh.

Now volunteers from different countries are preparing for Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. They want not only to help the Olympics but also to enjoy all sport events during Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

I hope Russian athletes will win a lot of medals. I wish them good luck.

The XXII Winter Olympic Games will be held in Sochi in February 2014.

In my opinion, Winter Olympic Games in Sochi are just waste of money.

To begin with, our country and the whole world are in an economical crisis, so we should save money or spend it on social programmes but not waste it! Our country spent $7 billion to build numerous sport constructions for Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. People who lived there had to go to other places because the authorities needed their lands for building sport objects. Tourists couldn’t go to Sochi and have a nice rest because it was closed for visitors. In addition, people harmed the ecology very much, damaged the shore of the Black Sea, and polluted the air, cut down the trees destroying the whole nature.

And why do all the important events happen in Sochi?

Why not to hold Winter Olympic Games in some other place with real snow?

To sum up, it is just waste of people’s money.

On the 7th of February Winter Olympic Games will start in Sochi. It’s the greatest event in the world which happens every four years. This event gathers together a lot of sportsmen all over the world I know that these Olympic Games are very expensive. $7 billion are spent on building sport constructions for ice hockey, curling, biathlon, bobsleigh, luge, skiing and skating.

The Olympic Games will be held in three places: Sochi, Adler and Krasnaya Polyana. A lot of people in Russia can take part in these Olympic Games. They can be volunteers. They will help tourists and sportsmen without getting money for their work. They will help to provide safety and order at the stadiums. I think these people are very important for the Olympics. If you want to be a volunteer, you should register on the website and be ready to do some tests. And then there will be special training for volunteers in different cities of our country.

I believe, these Olympic Games will be the most attractive event and all people all over the world will watch them. Of course, I‘d like to watch the Olympics in live. I am looking forward to seeing all sport competitions.
