Written by Howard Appleby “Castles. King Arthur’s Treasure”
When I looked for a book to read my classmate advised me this book .
I was interested in the title of this book, I wanted to know more about the castles and the legend of King Arthur.
The author is Howard Appleby. He’s been working 30 years as a teacher. He lives in Spain. He wrote the book «Castles. King Arthur’s Treasure» which was included in series of children's Macmillan.
This book is divided into two parts. The first is about English and Scottish castles in general. The second part is about legend of King Arthur treasure. The legend says that once upon a time there was a shepherd who met the magician. Magician showed him the door that led to the room where there was King Arthur’s treasure. He could take as much gold as he wanted but if he touched the bell King Arthur would awake. Shepherd’s first visit was successful but he wanted more gold. He returned to the room , but touched the bell. King Arthur awake, and all gold turned to stone. Shepherd was very greedy. The main idea of this book is easy to understand. This book teaches that people shouldn’t be greedy.
I would recommend this book because I really liked it. I think my friends will like this book, too.

Written by Sue Graves
When I looked for a book to read I liked the pictures in this book, it seemed to me that the story should be exciting. I asked the teacher about the book. She said that this is a detective story. I like detective stories so I took the book.
The author is Sue Graves. She lives in Inverness, Florida. She has one grandchild and one daughter. She enjoys writing, taking photos and walking around the house.
In this adventure story Robert and Lucy were transported back to Ancient Rome. When they tried to find a stolen statue, they found themselves in a dangerous situation. Marcus, Camilla, Robert and Lucy looked for bronze bust. It was stolen by Titus. They found the statue on his ship and Titus was convicted. Robert and Lucy looked at their time-travel phones. The batteries had a little power in them but they could go back in granddad’s study.
This book is easy to read. Lucy and Robert are very communicative children, it helps them to find a common language with other people and overcome problems.
The book teaches about real friendship and helping people.

Written by Richard Brown « Escape from the fire »
When I looked for a book to read I chose this book because of colorful pictures.
My favorite subject at school is history (after English, of course) and I was interested in facts about The Great Fire of London.
The author is Richard Brown. He is a published author, editor, illustrator, narrator, and a photographer of children's books.
The plot of the book is exciting. Robert and Lucy came in 1666 in London. That was a time of the Great Fire in London. There they had some adventures. They made new friends, found Robert’s stolen phone and warned citizens about the fire that ought to start that night. When the fire started they took a boat and sailed across the river. After changing clothes in their relatives' house, they said goodbye to everyone and moved home.
Lucy and Robert are very brave in this story. They are interested in history of London, too. Just like me!
I'd also like to go to the past or to the future and have some adventures there! This book inspired me to read more about Robert's and Lucy's traveling in time! This book gives a good example of real friendship that we can see only in hard times.
I advise to read it and enjoy the atmosphere of ancient London!
