                                                 Viva Sochi 2014!

     Once I came across the report on TV about the oncoming Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. It was said how many installations had already been built and what else they were planning to do for sportsmen and their fans. Soon the program was over. I went to bed but I wasn’t able to sleep for a long time. Bright pictures of the Olympic Games, the opening ceremony, our sportsmen’ victories were flitting through my mind. Emotions swept over me so that I didn’t notice that I had fallen asleep. And then I saw a wonderful dream…

     The Olympic Games have already started. Do you know who the main reporters of the Games are? They are the three mascots of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games: the Polar Bear, the Hare and the Leopard. A charming hare wearing a blue bow-tie is reporting from the Iceberg Skating Palace where the figure skating and short track speed skating events are being hosted. In December 2012 the  Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final was held there in order to test it.

     At the same time the leopard is telling us with enthusiasm about the Fisht Olympic Stadium which has been built recently. “The construction of this stadium”, the leopard says,”is situated in the new Sochi Olympic Park so that the spectators are able to observe the mountains in the north and the sea in the south”. Of course, after the Olympic Games the stadium will become a training centre for the Russian National Football Team.

     It’s the Polar Bear’s turn then. The Bear is informing us about a striking palace “Bolshoy Ice Dome”. It is a place of the ice hockey events and it includes 12,000 seats for fans.

     Suddenly the report has been interrupted and it has given place to magnificent views of snowy Sochi and picturesque mountain peaks. Our country is as majestic as these mountains. I believe Russian sportsmen will vindicate our country’s honour with dignity. I hope all the sports constructions which have already been built or are being built now will become the pride and reminding of brilliant victories of Russian sportsmen – the victories of our dear motherland!
