Dictionaries of the future . Dictionaries, what form will they take the future? The exact allegations cannot be given to this question. What will prevail dictionaries on paper or electronic ones?. If we follow the logical thinking, watching how electronic industry is developing, we can confidently say that the electronic kinds of dictionaries will prevail over the paper. Paper dictionaries and books will be used less and less. T he competition is too great. It’s evident that electronic dictionaries are much more convenient, cheaper and more practical. Nowadays y oung generations are adapting to new technologies and use modern dictionaries, whereas old generations are, mainly familiar with the paper dictionaries. We think that in the future all items will go into electronic format and will be, at least, on the remote control.

We believe that humanity still needs specific, accurate information, fast and clear. This is what we can get in future - electronic devices , mechanical dictionaries. T.he information will be filtered and you won’t waste your time on the unnecessary words.

L ibraries of the future Perhaps there will be entire electronic speaking libraries in which there will be all kinds of books. This library is presented in the film “The Time M achine " by director Simon Wells.

Bio dictionary problem We should think about bio-raw materials as well. There are still many trees but they are rapidly cut down and everything comes to an end. T he processes of wood recycling are not cheap. The manufacture of books depends on that as well. S ome small industrially undeveloped countries with a small area , where there are specially protected zones for planting and cultivation of trees , are obliged to buy raw materials from other countries. However, many countries will not be cutting trees to protect the environment, the purity and beauty of the country. An example of this is Finland, it buys wood from Russia, and then it also sells paper. S uch is a paradox.

Manuscript What electronics can replace paper?! As the Russian proveb says "What is written with a pen , is impossible to cut down with an axe". The most ancient manuscripts are written on paper or Papyrus birch bark. The c ollection of the world paper library is priceless.

I n ancient times T he advantage of paper dictionaries is that people reading them , enlarge their vocabulary spiritually. I n the eighteenth, nineteenth centuries there were so many talented and outstanding poets and writers both: Russian and European , because people read, developed their thoughts. It was a paper sheet, not the monitor. People of those times expressed their thoughts on paper improving grammar.

Amenities As we have already said , the world is not standing still, and with it the machine. Therefore, there are new, more modern words. It’s not easy to insert them into a paper dictionary as they need to be reprinted every time when new words appear. The electronic dictionary is more convenient. If it is possible to find a word with a single mouse click , why should we complicate life, printing new dictionaries? Electronic media is only a copy of the manuscript, it is certainly more convenient. O ne e-book weighing about 300 grams contains volumes of books and that's what you can carry in a small bag. This is, i ndisputably , a great achievement of humanity. On the other hand, when you disconnect the power supply, no technology will work. People will remain "without hands ".

Time makes adjustments The appliances can also be changed . Not long ago people used video cassettes and video recorders. But soon, with the great development, humanity has come to a new concept – disks and floppy disk drives. All the movies began to take the form of a disk, video recorders and cassettes became no longer needed. However, you need certain conditions to obtain information with electronic media. You won’t receive information just taking it in your hand, as with a book. P aper is not replaceable.

Health and electronics Of course, we cannot but say about the health . Electronics is based on radiation exposure and e lectronic dictionaries are not exception. Working with them you can spoil a vision. It is known that younger generation likes to try new things and if we use the electronic appliances regularly, soon there will not be a single person with good eyesight. Sill believing in better, we hope that in the future, scientists will create electronic dictionaries, which will take care of that and figure out a way to make these devices inflict less harm to health and mind, for example, they wii invent safe monitors, who knows. Humanity is full of mysteries, as well as our future. Now paper books are more useful in spiritual terms and in terms of health. We believe that in the future there will be helpful e-books, as well as dictionaries. Convenient, accurate and safe . We can talk endlessly about the advantage and future of dictionaries. But because the human mind rises each time above, you believe that electronics will prevail.

Time will show The development of humanity goes ahead and this is natural. It must introduce reforms. However, paper books and dictionaries will always have great value at all times . A developing forward technology will have preference, in this case the electronic dictionaries and books. And who knows, maybe we shall invent a perpetual motion machine, which won't produce bad or harmful electronic dictionaries and books. That would be great. Time will show …
