Rock and roll! Today I want to tell about the rock direction in music . Rock music has a large number of directions : from fairly " light " genres , such as dance rock and roll , from which this direction came at one time ( in a sense , we can assume that the rock direction of rock and roll ), pop rock , britpop , to brutal and aggressive genres — death metal and grindcore . The content of the songs varies from light and relaxed to dark , deep and philosophical .

The history of rock The history of rock music began in America when racial hostility reached a peak. The black population of the United States did not have the right to ride buses in the first four rows intended for “whites”. African Americans had to give way. The children studied in schools, divided by skin color. Even public places like the beach were segregated. Rock-n-Roll helped to reconcile the warring people, because it came from three types of music at once: rhythm, country and blues, which became the origins of rock. African-American performers played for a white audience. White musicians performed in front of blacks. So music helped bring the warring races closer together.

The beginning of the path I want to tell you about my favorite rock band - Nirvana. Nirvana is an American rock band formed by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. The first official record of Nirvana was the single "Love Buzz /Big Cheese", released in 1988. In June 1989, the band released their first album Bleach on the Sub Pop label. The album was produced by Jack Endino. Bleach's sound was strongly influenced by The Melvins, Mudhoney and such famous rock bands of the 1970s as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.

Worldwide fame She became a truly world-famous band with the release of the single Smells Like Teen Spirit in 1992. After that they went on a big tour around the world with their new album Nevermind which included Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Unsuccessful tour After one of the concerts in Europe during the tour , Cobain fell ill with bronchitis and severe laryngitis . The next show , which was to take place in the same hall the next night , was postponed . On the morning of March 4 in Rome , Courtney Love found Cobain unconscious in a hotel room , and he was taken to the hospital . Later , the doctor said at a press conference that Cobain had taken rohypnol prescribed to him and a large dose of alcohol . The tour , including numerous concerts in the UK, was finally canceled .

Death..... In the weeks that followed , Cobain's long-standing addiction to heroin made itself felt again . He was persuaded to go to a rehabilitation clinic . A few days later , he climbed over the fence of the clinic and flew on a plane to Seattle . On Friday , April 8, 1994, Cobain was found dead in his Seattle home : it is officially believed that he shot himself in the mouth with a gun . The band broke up .
