INTRODUCTION

I often meet people with English inscriptions on their clothes. It is influenced to the choice of my research topic: "Careful, talking clothes!".

  I think the topic chosen by me is relevant, because such clothes are popular among young people. With the help of inscriptions we can to know about people’s age, what he wants to say, about his thoughts. Most students do not understand the meaning of what is written on their clothes, do not attach importance of them. They wear them only because clothes with inscriptions are considered fashionable, beautiful.

Purpose of the work: help to people pay attention to inscriptions on their clothes.

The object of the work: inscriptions on people’s clothes.

The subject of the work: the meaning of inscriptions.

The research was held stepwise:

1. Searching  a certain quantity of  inscriptions on clothes
2. Translating into Russian this inscriptions
3. To combine findings and take a conclusion

In my opinion, this work let to students to pay attention to inscriptions on their clothes.

MAIN POINTS.

Excerpts on the history of  inscriptions on clothes.

Inscriptions on clothes come to light some century years ago. Elaborate stitching on belts was striken. In ancient Greece which talk about the names of the owner. Then inscriptions decorate only workpeople’s uniform, in other words it reports their status in place of work. Then  the Greeks began to show what designer or what firm is this wear, and after that on clothes began to appear the inscriptions bearing any sense.

The relationship between the age of people and the inscriptions on their clothes.

Inscriptions are different. They can tell us a lot about a person, in particular that this person does not understand the meaning of what is written on his clothes. Inscriptions are changing with the age of the person. Young children have just some phrases or cheerful phrases, teenager -  inscriptions containing all sorts of phrases, starting with what kind of person and ending with the number of the team or in what year he was born. Adults, realizing that the clothes may be written something not for their age or something incomprehensible, try to choose clothes without inscriptions – I believe that this is the right decision, unlike teenagers, who only look at the beautiful funny letters.

A RESEARCH OF THE INSCRIPTIONS ON CLOTHES OF STUDENTS.

I conducted my research as follows:

1. I found in school students, dressed in clothing, containing inscriptions on English language.
2. I copied or photographed the most interesting inscriptions and asked a questions are as follows:

• Class
• Do they know about meaning of inscriptions on their clothes or not
• Translating of inscriptions
• the reason they bought this thing

And on the analysis of the collected material made a conclusion:

The research involved students of 4, 7, 9 classes. 23 boys, 18 girls among them.

I asked them: "do you know the meaning of what is written on the clothes or not?" I got the following results:

According to these data, I can make a conclusion: only 46% know the meaning of what is written, and the remaining 54% do not know.

I canvass among the same classes: "for what reason did you buy this thing?»:

From these results, I can say that most students buy things with inscriptions because they like such clothes. There are those who pay attention to the meaning of the inscription, which I was very pleased. And only a small part of students received such clothes as a gift.

During the research, I asked students to translate the inscription. It turned out that only 45% know the translation of the inscription that they have on their clothes. Many of them said that they have a lot of attention to the inscription when buying things.

The remaining 55% found it difficult to translate their inscriptions on t-shirts and did not think about the meaning of what is written on them.

 This research work attracted students ' interest in inscriptions. They offered inscriptions in English not only on clothes, but also on briefcases, shoes, read English inscriptions on clothes of brothers and sisters.

          Clothing labels should be treated with caution. Others will not perceive. One must be careful when choosing one or another inscription on clothes. We wrote about us on clothes.
