The Uspensky Cathedral One of the main architectural and spiritual and cultural attractions of the city is the Holy Uspensky Cathedral. The construction of the Church of the Assumption of the blessed virgin Mary was carried out in 1907 -1912 under the guidance of the famous Kuban architect Alexander Petrovich Kosyakin. The Church is designed in the framework of the Russian-Byzantine style, popular in the South of Russia at that time. In Soviet times, the Church was closed only in 1938, with the transfer of the building to the collective farm for using as a granary. During the great Patriotic war the Church was partially destroyed, in the 70s the Cathedral was restored, painted, updated iconostasis, erected new domes. Today, both the external and internal decorations of the Church fascinate with its restrained beauty.
