Olympic sports are sports contested in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. The 2016 Summer Olympics included 28 sports, with five additional sports due to be added to the 2020 Summer Olympics. The 2014 Winter Olympics included seven sports. The number and kinds of events may change slightly from one Olympiad to another. Each Olympic sport is represented by an international governing body, namely an International Federation (IF). The International Olympic Committee (IOC) establishes of sports, disciplines, and events.

Baseball Baseball at the Summer Olympics unofficially debuted at the 1904 Summer Olympics, and became an official Olympic sport at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The event was last played in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing with South Korea taking the gold; the sport was dropped from the Summer Olympic programme , but will be revived as part of the programme for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Softball Team sports game with the ball, a variation of baseball on the site of smaller sizes. Softball at the Summer Olympics was on the Olympic programme from 1996 to 2008. Softball was removed from the programme for 2012 and 2016, but was added, along with baseball, for the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Basque pelota At the 1900 Summer Olympics, a Basque pelota tournament was contested. Only two teams competed, so only one match was played. The score is unknown. This was the only Olympiad where the pelota was an official sport, being revived at the 1924, 1968 and 1992 Games as a demonstration sport.

Water motorsports At the 1908 Summer Olympics, three motorboat racing events were contested. Various sources refer to the sport as "water motorsports", "motor boats", and "power boating". These Games were the only one to feature motorized sports; although it was featured in 1900, those events were deemed by the IOC in later years to be non-Olympic. All three events used the same distance, five laps around an 8 nautical mile course for a total of 40 nautical miles (70 km). In each of the events, multiple boats started but only one finished, due primarily to the gale that was blowing during the course of the competition. Events were held on 28 August and 29 August 1908.

Jeu de paume Jeu de paume was an event contested at the 1908 Summer Olympics. This was the only Summer Olympic Games to contain this sport as a medal event. An outdoor version called longue paume was a demonstration sport at the 1900 Summer Olympics. Real tennis, as jeu de paume is called in the United Kingdom, was an exhibition event at the 1924 Summer Olympics. In the Official Report of the 1908 Olympic Games, the sport is referred to as "Tennis " while tennis is named "lawn tennis."

Horseback Riding Horseback Riding made its Summer Olympics debut at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. It disappeared until 1912, but has appeared at every Summer Olympic Games since. In each discipline, both individual and team medals are awarded. Women and men compete together on equal terms. Equestrian disciplines and the equestrian component of Modern Pentathlon are also the only Olympic events that involve animals. The horse is considered as much an athlete as the rider.

Cricket The cricket competition at the 1900 Summer Olympics was held on 19 and 20 August. In total, there was one match between teams of 12 people between Great Britain and France, which the British won. This is the only cricket competition for all the Olympic Games.

Croquet The croquet competition at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris was held at different times from June 18 to July 11. Three sets of medals were played. A total of 10 athletes from both countries took part, according to the results of the competition, all the medals were won by athletes from France. Information about the course of the competition and the participants themselves is practically non-existent. It is known that 3 French women, competed in a tournament of singles on a par with men, were among the first women to participate in the Olympic Games

Lacrosse Lacrosse competitions at the Summer Olympics took place only at two Olympics - 1904 and 1908 - and were subsequently canceled. Later on the lacrosse included in three Olympics, but already as indicative. Lacrosse is not included in the list of recognized sports by the International Olympic Committee.

Roque Roque is a kind of croquet. They play it on a clay court with low sides. Competitions for the Rocky at the Summer Olympics in 1904 were the only time in the history of the Games. Participated only four Americans who played one set of medals.

Rackets Rackets is a version of tennis. The game (single and pair) with a ball and racket on the court without a grid with walls. Players send the ball into the wall so that it hits the opponent's side when bouncing. At the 1908 Summer Olympics, two rackets events were contested. Only British players participated in the competitions.
