Introduction
People have begun to travel many ages ago. The first travelers were explorers. They went on trips to find wealth, fame or something else.
Their travels were very dangerous, but people continued to go to unknown lands.
Nowadays it is not so dangerous. Do you want to go somewhere? There are many companies, which will help you. They will take care about all the reservations needed.
You do not speak the language of the country you want to go to? There are interpreters or the Internet translators that will help you.
Without leaving the house, you can book tickets on the Internet or by phone. With modern services, you can go around the world. You can travel by plane, train, ship, bicycle or you can travel hiking.
However, if you like to travel, you should know the laws of the country!
What is the law? The law is the code of obligatory rules and regulations of an economic and public conduct of all subjects established by the state in the territory of this country including the list of prohibitions and restrictions.
When you travel around the world, it is not always a bad idea to do your research on local laws and traditions.
It is not only keep you out of trouble, but it can also help you get the most out of your holiday.
Nevertheless, there are some weird rules that surely nobody is expected to follow.
I want to tell you about the strange laws of the UK and the USA.
Chapter 1.
A legacy of residents of the United Kingdom, not only got rich history and unique culture, and has some additional benefits. As in many other countries, the UK lacks laws that were once relevant, but now seem downright pointless and ridiculous, and funny.
Here some of such ridiculous laws:
1. If you meet the Scots any day of the week except Sunday, it is allowed to shoot him from the bow.
2. In England, the law forbids to stick the postage stamp with Queens’s face upside down.
3. It is illegal the cattle driving on the streets of London.
4. It is illegal to eat meat paste During Christmas in England.
5. There is still the law in England that forbids owning a TV anyone who does not have a special license.

Chapter 2.
The USA is known as a country where the number of absurd meaning of the law just rolls over. Many of them, are funny, others may have bewildered.
1. In Florida women mustn’t go parachuting on Sunday.
2. It is illegal to pay for purchases that cost more than 50 cents only one-cent coins.
3. In Toronto the tram drivers can't eat garlic on Sundays.
4 In Nova Scotia it is forbidden to water the lawn in the rain.
5. In Montreal, it is forbidden to swear in French, only English is allowed.
6. In Oregon it is illegal to do physical exercise, when you drive a car along the highway. You can talk on

8. In Texas, children are not allowed to wear unusual hairstyles.
9. In Wisconsin it is illegal to serve in a public place an apple pie without cheese.
10. You can't eat potatoes, imported from Poland.
11. It is impossible to talk about vacation, babies.
12. The law of the state Alabama forbids wearing some mustaches that provoke laughter in the church.
13. In Utah it is forbidden to make a disaster.
14. The law of the state Idaho forbids giving a box of chocolates weighing more than 50 pounds.
15. In Alaska it is forbidden to arouse the bears from his sleep if you want to photograph them.
16. In Arizona donkeys mustn’t sleep in the bath.
17. In Washington It is illegal to eat lollipops.
18. In Oklahoma it is forbidden to fight with bears.
19. In Idaho it is forbidden to fish when you sitting on a camel.
20. In Idaho Woman can be put to prison if she will open her husband's mail.
21. In Florida if you want to ride a skateboard, you must take out drivers.
Chapter 3.
The reason of such laws may be different.
Did you know that in the houses of Parliament the law forbids to die? This rule come from the fact that the building of the British Parliament has the status of a Royal Palace.
Also all whales and sturgeons which were caught in the UK belong to the crown. It is considered that this law reflected the will of King Edward II and to control the consumption of this product.
According to the Law of 1839, one of the crimes it is the carrying on the sidewalk anything in barrels, wheels, ladders, planks, or poles, with the exception of loading, unloading carts. That law has been adopted to provide to people free movement in the public places.
Inhabitants of new houses in Beverley's town must sing a contract that they can’t to hang out the washed linen on the street. Creators of this law think that it can distract from the beauty of architecture.
In the State of Arizona, it is illegal to hunt camels. The reason is that the army of the USA used camels as draft force. The locals considered that camels were the species of wild animals and hunted them. Of course, they caused damage the defense capability of the USA.
In the State of Michigan, it is illegal to throw octopuses in some public places. The reason: fans of Detroit Red Wings threw octopuses on the skating rink during the match. This tradition has appeared in 1952. The team needed to win all eight games to win the Stanley Cup. At the beginning of the first game, someone from fans has thrown an octopus on ice - one leg for each game. In addition, Red Wings became champions.
In the State of Hawaii, boards on the roads and in some public places are illegal. The reason: Advertising mustn’t prevent tourists to admire the Hawaiian landscapes.
In the State of Texas men are forbidden to carry with themselves nippers. The reason: At the time of the Wild West, some swindlers could steal the cattle, cutting wire fences with nippers. Such thefts became so frequent that, eventually, have decided to forbid nippers.
In the State of West Virginia, pupils can't attend school if from them smells of onions. The reason: A certain type of wild onions, which has extremely strong smell, grows in this state.
Conclusion
It is possible to find the Law raising a smile in any country of the world, amusing or frankly ridiculous. In most cases, this is because many of the Laws just simply have no validity. It turns out that the years are sometimes useless to remember the reason that led to this law, but the Law is valid.
However, we should remember – «ignorance of the law is no excuse»!
