One of the most interesting dynasties in the world is the British royal family. We all know that the present monarch of the United Kingdom and of several other British states is Queen Elizabeth II.

She was born on April 21st, 1926. This day in the country is celebrated with special festivities. When she turned twenty-one, she married Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh. Several years later after her father’s death she was crowned.

Over the time she gave birth to four children: Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward. All of them have certain titles. For example, Prince Charles is the Prince of Wales; Prince Andrew is the Duke of York. The British family of monarchs is only getting larger and multi-branched. However, everyone remember the loss of their lovely princess Diana, the heir’s first wife. Prince Charles was married twice. His first wife was the well-known and highly-respected Princess Diana, who died in the accident in 1997. She gave England two boys. The oldest son William is now married and has two wonderful kids – George and Charlotte. Prince Harry, his brother, is planning to marry Megan Markle, a famous actress. Princess Anne has been married twice and she also has two children - a son and a daughter. Prince Andrew has two daughters and Prince Edward has a son and a daughter. The Queen’s heir is her eldest son Charles.

At the moment the Queen is already more than 90 years. She still participates in national celebrations and looks as stylish as always. Her only sister Princess Margaret died in February 2002. During her life she was known for her regular charity work.
