Early History The name "England" is derived from the Old English name Englaland, which means "land of the Angles" The first people on the territory of Great Britain was Celts about 30.000 years ago. Roman conquest, which begining in 43 made Romans ruling the south of the UK. They were ruling about 400 years.

Normans In 1066 Normans from France started their conquest in the UK. After that, they`re made feudalism in Wales and Ireland. Normans brought their culture to the England. Later english Kings has completed the conquestion of Wales, but not a Scotland. Because Scotland wanted to be an independent country.

Famous people. William the Conqueror. Usually known as William the Conqueror and sometimes William the Bastard. He was the first Norman King of England, reigning from 1066 until his death in 1087. This guy is launched a conquest of England in 1066 with support of Normandy.

Richard the Lionheart Richard I - was King of England from 6 July 1189 until his death (6 April 1199). He was known as Richard Cœur de Lion or Richard the Lionheart because of his reputation as a great military leader and warrior. By the age of 16, Richard had taken command of his own first army. Also Richard invaded Kyprus island.

John Lackland He was King of England from 6 April 1199 until his death in 1216. Following the battle of Bouvines, John lost the duchy of Normandy to King Philip II of France. All the people think that he was the worst King ever. There were no Kings with the name Lackland at least.

Richard II Also known as Richard of Bordeaux, was King of England from 1377 until he was deposed on 30 September 1399. Upon the death of this elder brother, Richard—at four years of age—became second in line to the throne after his father. Upon the death of Richard's father prior to the death of Edward III, Richard became the first in line for the throne. With Edward III's death the following year, Richard succeeded to the throne at the age of ten. During Richard's first years as king, government was in the hands of councils. He had suffered from "personality disorder". He was bad and tyrannical King, so he was deposed.

Henry V He was King of England from 1413 until his death at the age of either 34 or 35 in 1422. After military experience fighting the Welsh during the revolt of Owain Glyn Dwr, and against the powerful aristocratic Percys of Northumberland, Henry came into political conflict with his father, whose health was pretty bad from 1405 onward. After his father's death in 1413, Henry embarked on war with France in the ongoing Hundred Years' War.His military successes culminated in his famous victory at the Battle of Agincourt (1415) and saw him come close to conquering France. After months of negotiation with Charles VI of France, Henry V was married to Charles's daughter. Then Henry V's sudden and unexpected death in France two years later, he was succeeded by his infant son, who reigned as Henry VI.
