Petra - the city carved into the rocks is located in the valley of Wadi Musa . For the unique shade of rocks it is also called the Pink city. The a ge of the city is 2-4 thousand years. The state was formed by the Nabateans , that existed from the III century BC until 106 AD on the territory of modern Jordan, Syria, Israel and Saudi Arabia. Petra became the capital of the Kingdom, gradually acquiring enormous influence. Surprisingly, Petra is a natural oasis ! It often rains i n this part of the planet. Nabatean Kingdom fell at the hands of the Romans . As a result, this rock city was lost in the deserts, but a well-known traveler Johann Burkhart decided to find the lost city in 1812 .
