A bit of history of Karaul -mountain Karaul -mountain, as it is usually called, is the main attraction of the town Belaya Kalitva , and it was among the Seven wonders of the Don. The name of the Karaul has come since those old days, when, Cossacks were put there as the town guards. Those, seeing the enemy, put the fire on the top of the mountain, thereby alerting other residents about the approach of the enemy.

Mountains From the top of the Karaul - mountain, Sokolii mountains you can see the rivers Kalitva and Bystraya , where as it is believed there was a battle with the Polovtsy described in the "Word about Igor's regiment". Historians say that the path ran through the current Donbass and ended on the left Bank of the Seversky Donets river near the present town of Belaya Kalitva . Some scientists believe the river Bystraya , in those years, was the most legendary Kayala . For others, Kayala is considered the river Belaya Kalitva .
