After going through Petrovsky Park, we can see The winter pier. Here all the ships come from St. Petersburg. Petrovskaya pier is the famous sea gates of the city. The pier is called the Winter because the ships are here all year round.

This building was founded by Peter the Great. The king started construction of harbours on the island. The Swedish prisoners, serfs and convicts were attracted to hard construction. And for over 100 years everything here was wooden.

In the second half of the 19th century the structure was rebuilt in stone. Modern view of Petrovskaya pier was purchased in 1882. Now here you can see the old gun, which sends the signals and warns about the threat of flooding. Here you will see two cast-iron vases.

The winter pier is famous for the fact that a lot of Russian ships went to other countries. Every year a lot of tourists visit this amazing p lace, take wonderful photos and share their incredible impressions .

Italian Palace is the oldest building of the city. The project of this large Palace structures was developed by the architect I. F. Braunstein , the customer was the Prince A. D. Menshikov . The Palace was built in 1720-1724. The building was also known as the Menshikov Palace.

The original decoration of the Palace was made in the style of Petrine Baroque, but, after numerous reconstructions, the middle of the XIX century the Palace appearance was completely changed. After Menshikov had lost the Royal favor, his possessions became the property of the Imperial family. For some time the building was used for school, but the fire of 1926 destroyed most of the building.
