Diaries in our life.
Some people in order to remember the best moments in life write them on the paper. They are going to reread and to remember everything in some period of time. Time flies, many things disappear completely from our life. People keep a diary to get from the memory unforgettable events in life. Old photographs remind a lot so as diaries do. I believe that it is the same as to write to yourself a letter into the future, say “hello” to yourself from the past. It is very pleasant to find old letters and photographs. It won’t be possible to read an electronic diary in 30 years.
Other people have nobody to share their pain and experience. The best way out for them is to keep a diary. Very often the diary is kept by a teenager, when his life is full of emotions, feelings and thoughts which are not understood by his parents. A diary is a way to communicate with yourself. It is useful when there is nobody you can share your problems with. It is difficult to keep pain in yourself. A diary is thought to be like a person. It is able to help, to give an advice.
Besides I am sure that there is another very simple reason of keeping a diary. I guess such people are more competent, well educated , have a wide inner world. They are brave enough to accept yourself as they are. While those who do not keep a diary are more light- minded.
In nineteenth century and even earlier the diary was a necessity but only for those who had time and competence.
As for me I adore to transfer my emotions into the paper. I trust paper. I make my plans, thoughts, and senses clear with the help of the paper.
I trust it even more than people. A white piece of paper will always listen to me, will never leave me alone. In any situation it is near you. If you find it stupid to “talk with paper” it is your own chose but a great number of well known creative people, great writers and even artists don’t think so.
I have been keeping a diary for a long time already. It is called a “creative copybook”. I like to reread it. While reading it I sometimes see how kind and naive I was. I read my poems, names, letters and signs, look at some drawings. I remember everything I meant writing and drawing them. There are my views, first love, best friend, quarrels and problems in the family, searching for myself, jokes and tricks at school.
But there is a disadvantage – somebody can read it without my permission.
