A harvest festival is an annual celebration . It is celebrated all over Russia and take place from August to September. Harvest festivals can be found at various times at different places. It marks the end of the gathering of crops. A large amount of food and freedom from the necessity to work in the fields are two central features of harvest festivals: eating, merriment, contests, music are common features of harvest festivals around the world.

On Sept. 10-11, Moscow’s Kolomenskoye park will host a “bread and circuses” festival, “ Ура!жай ,” whose name is a play on the Russian words “ урожай ” (harvest) and “ ура ” (hooray!). The festival will bring together restaurants, farms, grocery stores and chefs who grow, prepare, procure and sell only natural and organic goods. The event will combine the best traditions of world harvest festivals with solutions to modern problems. Lectures from culinary stars, baking workshops and a food market await as well as a parade of street theaters, livestock and pumpkin bowling!

Armavir is one of the major cities of the Kuban region with a diversified economy. Armavir delegation took part in the regional festival Harvest Day. Food!) festival focused on viniculture.

Anyone visiting the festival will have a chance to try delicious dishes presented by the 20 best restaurants of southern Russia and attend workshops hosted by chefs. No one will have the chance to be bored — the festival program features wine tasting, culinary competitions, a wine market and a fair offering local products, all accompanied by music.

A harvest festival is a special day. Visitors have the chance to have a lot of fun and try delicious food. The feast includes cooking contest, music and dancing. With the Harvest Festival we give thanks for the harvest and the food that has been brought in and stored for the winter months ahead. Obviously in years gone by a successful harvest was crucial, and that is why we have similar festivals all around the world, including Thanksgiving in Canada and the USA.
