Early Life Early Life Born May 14, 1984 – White Plains, NY Son of Edward & Karen Zuckerberg His father is a dentist and mother, a physician Grew up in Dobbs Ferry, NY, with his three sisters, Randi, Donna, and Arielle Graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy was raised Jewish and has described himself as an atheist. Early Life He created a messaging program he named " Zucknet ". His father used the program in his dental office. He built a music player called the Synapse Media Player that used artificial intelligence to learn the user's listening habits, Microsoft & AOL tried to purchase Synapse & recruit Zuckerberg, but he chose instead to enroll at Harvard University in September 2002 .

He also invented Face mash , which compared the pictures of two students on campus and allowed users to vote on which one was more attractive. The program became wildly popular, but was later shut down by the school administration after it was deemed inappropriate.
