Types There are many types of Native Americans. Every tribe had a different name and a different language.
Слайд 3
Native Americans Native Americans came from Asia. Over 20 000 years ago they travelled across the land between Siberia and Alaska.
Слайд 4
New World When English colonists came to the New World on board the ”Mayflower” the Native Americans met them and were very friendly and helped them a lot.
Слайд 5
Food People lived in small earth houses and grew their own food. Some Indians ate only grass, nuts and what fruit they could find. Other people were fishermen and lived in wooden houses.
Слайд 6
Gods They believed in many gods and thought that gods lived in trees, stones, water and fire. They believed their gods could bring success in hunting , farming and fishing. They often had special ceremonies with dances and music before they went hunting or fishing or when they began farming.
Слайд 7
Songs and Poems Native American songs and poems are a very important part of their traditions as they help them to keep their history and culture alive.
Слайд 8
Many years ago Native American tribes lived in all parts of the USA, and hunted and fished wherever they chose. Now most of them live in poor lands to the west of the Mississippi River. Many live on ‘reservations’.

The Comanche Inhabiting the Great Plains of Middle America, this warlike tribe used the dog-travois (a kind of sledge designed to slide over earth, grass and stones, pulled by two or more large dogs) to follow migrating game herds, but by the early 17 th century they had discovered the horse from the Spanish in the south-west, taking to it rapidly .
Слайд 10
The Crow The Crow lived and hunted in Montana and northern Wyoming. They had lived pre-historically in peaceful small settlements, and were good farmers with an organised and prosperous agriculture. In season they hunted the buffalo, used for meat, clothing and animal grease.
Слайд 11
The Pawnee By 1000 a.d. these Native Americans were living west of the Missouri River, in what is now Nebraska. They were farmers and lived in village communities, though they practised seasonal hunting. In the 15 th and 16 th centuries they were nomadic, on foot.

Conclusion In conclusion, I would like to say that Native Americans lived in North America and were called ‘’Indians’’. There were more than 2 000 tribes. The Europeans were afraid of the Indians. For 400 years the white people and the Indians fought with each other. In 1924 a law made the Indians citizens of the USA.
