In 1988 the Soviet- C anadian expedition under the leadership of Shparo crossed on skis Arctic ocean route: USSR — North pole — Canada. In 1998 Dmitry Shparo and his son Matvey Shparo carried out the first ,in history , ski crossing of the Bering Strait that separates Asia and America. For the crossing of the Bering Strait, Dmitry and Matvey Shparo are listed in the London Guinness Book of Records. Travel and expeditions.
