Ecology of the Far East Ecology of the Far East has not yet suffered greatly due to human activities. Despite the fact that this area occupies almost 40% of the territory of the Russian Federation, it is not attractive to the founders of the industrial enterprises . Ecology of the Far East is still more or less favorable, as the area is not the best climatic and natural conditions for living and activity of people. In addition, the ecology of the Far East makes the distance from industrialized areas of Russia. However, in areas of the Far East, where people began production, the environment is just terrible .

POLLUTION OF THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE FAR EAST Ecology of Khabarovsk suffers from high dust concentration in the atmosphere. The dust content of the air is 10 times more than the permissible limit. The atmosphere of Komsomolsk-on-Amur actively polluted by carbon monoxide. Its content in the air in 20 times exceeds maximum permissible level . The region-leader in terms of harmful emissions into the atmosphere of the Far East (25%) is Primorsky Krai . Ecology of Primorsky region most affected due to the functioning of energy enterprises. Many thermal power stations working on solid and liquid fuel, thereby increasing the concentration of harmful substances in emissions into the atmosphere.

POLLUTION OF THE WATERS OF THE FAR EAST More than 800 000 000 cubic metres of untreated wastewater annually discharged into the water bodies of the Khabarovsk, seaside edges and the Amur region . The Amur waters are contaminated by untreated effluents from industrial enterprises of Khabarovsk, Amursk , Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Nikolaevsk -on-Amur In Primorye 80% of wastewater discharged is not subject to regulatory clearance. Untreated industrial and municipal discharges contain such harmful substances as phosphorus, zinc, phenols, oil products, copper and suspended solids .

The solution of ecological problems of the Far East In actions involving environmental professionals and the youth. And participation in the project of representatives of different countries allows to obtain full and objective information on the nature of contamination of the coasts of Japan and the Yellow sea. The resulting collaborative research information is used to develop measures aimed at ensuring ecological safety of the marine basin, the fight against marine waste management and the protection of places of fishing.
