The topic of our study «The youth language and text messaging in English speaking countries» is related to the unit of lexicology that deals with the study of lexical units and their meanings. We consider this topic one of the most actual and interesting because we think that the language of youth is one of exponents of development of society, its culture and the scale of educational level of population.
Having been studying the general characteristics of the youth language and slang we took the definition from Oxford dictionary: slang is words and combination of words which are outside from Standart English. Slang is emotive lexicon.[1]
The subject of our study is the youth language and text messaging like one of the components of the modern language environment and the object of our study is
analyzing of the frequency its using on the Internet among teenagers from English speaking countries.
The purpose of our work is an attempt to discover theoretical aspects of youth language on the Internet on the basic of all available sources of information.
Problems of the study:
1. To study theoretical bases of English youth language and text messaging.
2. To stay contacts with teenagers from English speaking countries with the purpose of learning if teenagers from English speaking countries use youth language in text messaging by dint of social network: Facebook[2], Skype[3].
3. To analyze the frequency of its using on the Internet and the scale of educational level of population.
