The English language in Australia

Introduction

The topic of our study «The English language in Australia» is related to the unit of lexicology that deals with the study of lexical units and their meanings. We consider this topic one of the most actual topic in this unit of language. Having been studying general characteristics of the English language in Australia. We stated that there are some differences in different aspects of language in Australia and Great Britain. So that practical experience supports the importance of study the English language in different countries, its history and differences.

The subject of our study is the English language in Australia and the object of our study is the problem of study and stating the differences between British and Australian variants of English.

The purpose of our work is an attempt to discover the basic differences in different aspects of language between British and Australian variants of English on the basic of all available sources of information.

Problems of the study:

1.      To study theoretical bases of English in Australian.

2.      To examine the differences in vocabulary, phonetics and in grammar.
