22 th Winter Olympic Games The Winter Olympic Games is a major international sporting event that occurs once every four years. The first Winter Olympics, were held in Chamonix, France in 192 4 . And the last Olympics Games are held in Sochi, Russia in 2014.

Evgeni Viktorovich Plushenko He was b orn on 3 November 1982 in Khabarovsk . Plushenko is a Russian figure skate. He started to dance at 4. At 11 age his mother took him to Saint Petersburg to train under the tutelage of Alexei Mishin.

2000 –2001 In 2000, Plushenko defeated Yagudin at the 2000 European Championships, but finished off the podium at the 2000 World Championships. Plushenko had a very successful 2000–2001 season, winning every event he entered, including his first World title.

2002–2006 At the 2002 Winter Olympics, Plushenko was considered co-favorites. Plushenko finished 4th in the short program after falling on his quadruple toe loop.

Going into the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, Plushenko was the overwhelming favorite because of his past success under the new judging system. Plushenko skated two solid programs and became the Olympic champion.

Plushenko took a break from competitions the following 2006 Olympic season. In 2008 Plushenko, together with violinist Edvin Marton, accompanied Dima Bilan on stage as part of the winning Eurovision Song Contest performance "Believe" in Belgrade, Serbia. 2009–2010 In March 2009, Plushenko announced that he had returned to training in order to prepare for the 2010 Olympics. Plushenko led the short program in his return to skating at the Cup of Russia on October 23, 2009. He skated at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver and was only the second.

2014 Winter Olympics On 22 January 2014, it was announced that Plushenko had been awarded Russia's sole men's spot for the 2014 Winter Olympics. It will be his fourth Olympics.

At the 2014 Winter Olympics, Plushenko placed second in the short program and the first in the free skate portion in the team competition . Russia team won gold . And it is Plushenko's second Olympic gold and fourth medal overall .

Plushenko decided to withdraw from the competition before his pre-short program on 13 February 2014 because he had a very bad spinal ache. It was announced shortly after that he would be subsequently retiring from the sport.
