It's easier to make friends than to keep them

                       It is easier to make new friends than to keep them.

People have been speculating for decades about such a theme as friendship. There are those who believe that one needs to work hard to keep old friends whlie others follow another viewpoint singling out that according to laws of nature new people must always substitude old ones in a person's life. Let us consider the pros and cons of both viewpoints.

To my mind, people always seek to renew their social circles and that is why they are in constant search of new friends, acquaintances who can brighten up their existence. Moreover, it is easier to build up fresh relationship with new people because of the absence of mutual resentments from the past. Besides, people may change residence and thus it is impossible to preserve long distance friendship because they are not there for each other in times of grief or happiness.

However, we should not forget about the existence of different opinions. Firstly, conservative people favour old companions as it takes time to get to know each other inside out. Secondly, it may be dangerous to let a new person enter your life since there is a lack of common background such as shared studies at school.

Despite these rational points of view, I still believe that with age people become more selective and choose their friends based on the values and interests they share and not as a result of a meeting in a kindergarten or school.

In conclusion, I find new emotions from new positive people to be incredible.
