Good afternoon, Dear friends! Today we are going to travel to Great Britain, to Scotland exactly and to know about famouse people, who lived there and some interesting facts about this country.

We are going to visit some places. The first one to see in Loch-Ness Lake , Scotland. It is well-know all over the world because of mysterious Loch-Ness Monster. Its length is 37 kilometers and its width is 2 kilometers. The lake is said to be the deepest in Great Britain. There are places where it is about 200 meters deep. Its depth and size make it important for life support of the country. It is a part of the system of electric power station system in Foyers. There is a museum of Loch-Ness Monster on its coast, the site which attracts a lot of tourists as the lake itself does. This Monster was mentioned in 1933 for the first time, when one of the magazines published an interview with vitnesses , who had seen something in the lake. Since then tourists come to the lake not to see the nature only, but having a hope to meet a legendary creature.

There is another interesting place in Scotland. It is Alen Donan Castle. This castle is known all over the world. It is situated on the island where 3 lakes meet and is surrounded by the greatest landscapes. This castle is one of the most important and visiting sites in Scotland. People came here first in the 6 century but the castle itself was built in the 13 century. It was destroyed several times since then but rebuilt anew. The last reconstraction was finished in 1932 and now you have an opportunity to learn all the parts of the castle , its history and enjoy the site of the landscape around it.

There is one more interesting place to visit in Scotland. It is Sterling Castle. It is called the cradle of legends about Arthur the King. They say that it is the place where Camelot was situated and the knights sat at the round table. Thousands of adventurous come here every year to see it themselves. It was mentioned in a lot of historic events. For example, Mary Stuart was crowned here. Sterling is a place with a lot of legends and mysteries. They say very often that ghosts were seen and strange sounds were heard there.Слайд 3
A lot of well-known people lived in Great Britain before or live there now such as Walter Scott, Winston Churchill, William Shakespeare, Margaret Thatcher, Conan Doyle, Isaac Newton, John Lennon, Joanne Rowling, Agate Christie, Queen Elizabeth II and other.

The interesting facts Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832)- the famous writer, a poet, historian. He is a Scott. He was fond of mountain climbing and storytelling. He is known as a founder of historical over. He had a good memory. His museum was opened in his estate Abbots ford. Sir Winston Churchill – He was named the greatest from the British when he died. He was fond of horse-riding. The British politician loved horses best of all. He gave birth one of the famouse collocations «No coments ». The Queen Elizabeth II - her nickname in a family was Lilibet . Her father George VI was very proud of his daughter. She became a successor to the throne at the age of 10. The young Princess work as a mechanic during the World War II. She likes horses and dogs. She has got a strong character and self confidence. The Windsor is the youngest Royal dynasty in Europe
