Description The stella on " Poklonnaya Hill" is a Monument of the Victory which is located on " Pobediteley Square", in Victory park, in the city of Moscow. The obelisk 141,8 meters high was solemnly open on May 9, 1995, in honor of the 50 anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Height of a sculpture is chosen not casually, each decimeter of an obelisk symbolizes one day of war. The stele is made of specially developed steel, and the enormous monument history 25-ton bronze composition which represents the goddess “ Pobedy Nika ” and two blowing cupids crowns.

Creation The architect and the founder of a monument is the outstanding artist and the sculptor Zurab Konstantinovich Tsereteli . The monument was constructed for very short term – 9 months, and today for service of an obelisk the special elevator rising by 87 meters is installed. The stele on Poklonnaya Gora is in a favourite place of walks and meetings of citizens and tourists, the city authorities and employees of Victory park reliably preserve it. And today the obelisk is also fine, as well as during opening.
