 “King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table”

As for me, I`m crazy about reading. I can`t imagine my life without books. There are a lot of  Russian and foreign writers.

Once, I read a wonderful novel “King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table”. There are many magnificent facts but especially I was interested in the meaning of “The round Table”. Immediately, I looked for it in the internet and knew some interesting things.

The knights were usually of noble burth. They formed the backbone of the army.

When the knights attended a festival or council at the king`s man hall, those who sat at the head of table, usually had precedence over others. These knights would feel envy or jealousy to those of higher ranking.

To resolve these problems Arthur restorted to having to having his table constructed in a round shape. The ingenuity of this design made all the knights equal regardless if he was a king or a minor baron. No one would have precedence over others.

Another interesting thing was order of the Garter that was established by Edward 3. There was a legend that the king took lady`s garter from the floor and put it on under his knee with the words “Honni soit qui mal y pense”.

We can give different examples, that`s why you should read a lot and broad your mind.
