Peter's Lutheran Church was designed by Alexander Brulllov and built in 1833-1837. The religion was persecuted in Soviet Union . The church was closed and used as an indoor swimming pool , most of the inner decorations were damaged . It was only in 1990s when the church was restored and returned to the believers

It is usually called the Finnish church and is one of the oldest and largest Protestant churches in Russia. As the Russian Revolution of 1917 came , the church went through the most difficult time . In 1938, the church was forced to stop functioning and the church building was first used as a residential space and later as a N atural H istory M useum .

St. John's Church St. John's Church is a Protestant church in St. Petersburg, Russia. The church is situated at the address of 54 Dekabristov Street, close to the Mariinsky Theatre. Founded in 1859 to serve the Estonian community living in the city at that time, it is considered Estonia's symbol of independence. Closed in 1930 by the Soviet government , the belfry and portal was demolished and the building was used for warehousing and workshops .

St. Ann's Church St. Ann's Church (Annenkirche in German) is a historical church in Saint Petersburg. It was built in 1775-1779 by Felten for the German Lutheran community in a neoclassical style with Ionic columns . The church was closed in 1935 and transformed into a cinema , called Spartak . At the beginning of the 21st century a nightclub was opened inside the building and it was damaged by fire . The church was restored in 2012-2013.

Lutheran Church of St. Michael Lutheran Church of St. Michael is located on Middle Avenue Vasilevsky Island, 18/3-Line, 32. The community was founded in 1731 in the building of the first cadet corps. In 1834 the community was named after Archangel Michael. In 1841 Emperor Nicholas I ordered the church to turn into a private house. Estonian community organized the Church of St. John here. The church was built after the design of the architect K. Bulmering between 1871 and 1876. It was built in pseudogothic style. Church is crowned with spiky tent on high drum, decorated with gothic lancet windows and pinnacles. The walls of the church are faced with sandstone
