Проект  

«Достопримечательности г. Южноуральска» 

(по УМК Биболетовой М.З. “Enjoy English”  для 5 класса)

Цель проекта:

                        воспитание чувства патриотизма и гордости за свой родной город.

Задачи: 1) расширить представление одноклассников о родном городе, познакомить с его достопримечательностями;

              2) собрать и систематизировать информацию о г. Южноуральске на русском языке и представить ее на английском.

Sights of the Town of Yuzhnouralsk

I live in Russia. Our country is very large. There are many cities and towns in our country. I would like to tell you about my town.

Yuzhnouralsk is not big. About 40,000 people live there. But it’s the town I love and my family and I live in. My town is very beautiful, green and quiet. It is small. There are seven schools in my town. We have also a music school and a sports school. There are some factories around the town.

Now I would like to tell you about some of its sights. The Square of Lenin Komsomol is in the centre of the town. Main holidays and festivals take place there. In the centre of the square there is a monument to Lenin. Behind the monument you can see a fountain. Not far from the square there is a memorial with the Eternal Fire in the honour of the people who died in the Great Patriotic War.

Though our town is small, there are two cinemas. Rio cinema has recently opened its doors.

If we have free time, we can enjoy our walking in the park. We can also use merry-go-rounds and swings, play different games, take part in outdoor activities. I often visit the town museum which is situated in the House of Culture. There I can learn about the history of the town, enjoy the paintings of the local artists, visit interesting exhibitions.

Not far from the park there is a stadium, we run, jump, play football, take part in different competitions there.  

On Sundays people of my town also visit one of the churches.

Our town is rich in outstanding people. We have writers, poets, artists, singers, dancers, sportsmen famous all over the country and the world.

I am proud of my town.
