For your information. “Murphy’s Law” got its name from Captain Edward A. Murphy, an engineer who worked on a very challenging project at Edwards Air Force Base in 1949. Nowadays there are a lot of witty statements that are similar to Murphy’s Law. They are made up by different people all over the world.

Some examples. If there are two queues, yours always moves slower. Just when you think things cannot get any worse, they’ll do. If you put something in a very safe place, you’ll never find it again.

If a lot of different things can go wrong, they’ll all go wrong at the same time. If you put on your new shoes for the first time, you’ll have to walk miles. As soon as you learn all the rules, they’ll change again.

If you throw something away, you’ll need it an hour later. If you go shopping, you’ll always forget to buy something. If you don’t take an umbrella in cloudy weather, it will always rain.

When you hurry up, you’ll be always late. There will be no good programmes on TV when you have a lot of free time. When I don’t do my homework, the teacher will check it.

When I study at school till two o’clock and arrive at home hungry, I see a note on the door that the light will be turned off from two p.m. till six p.m. If I don’t understand the task, the teacher will always ask it.
