DENMARK

The Kingdom of Denmark is situated on the peninsular Jutland and on the three islands. Its population  5,5 mln People. It’s a constitutional monarchy. The queen is Margrete the Second. 

The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen. It was founded in 1167 and is situated  on the three islands and has a population about 1 mln people. 

The flag of Denmark is red with a white cross and the state emblem is yellow with three blue lions,  nine red hearts and a crown above them.

The main  national animal of Denmark is a monkey.

One of the famous traditional dishes is smerrebred  sandwich with meat, vegetables or eggs.

A special festival of Denmark is St.Hans Day, which is celebrated on the 24 th of June. People wear traditional clothes: dark blue suits and trousers, high boots and tall brown hats for men and long bright skirts and blouses, white aprons and white hats with red ribbons for women.
