Since ancient times, dance makes human life nicer. A man expresses his thoughts, feelings and experiences with the help of it. And there is no nation that has not been proud of their national dances.
Dance is an expression of thought and feeling by means of gestures and postures. Modern dance with their rapid rhythms, unusual and complex positions of the body can train endurance, the vestibular system, the respiratory system and the heart.
Unfortunately, in our country the phrase "modern dance" can mean anything.
This trend in dancing appeared in our country not so long ago, and the way of its development was quite difficult. Most people do not accept it as contemporary art, with the artistic outlook and thinking.
The subject of the study is modern dance.
The object of the study is external and internal influences on the life and health of a teenager.
The aim of our research work is examination of modern dance as a mean of impact on the lives and health of a teenager.
While doing our research work we set the following tasks:
• to learn the history of modern dance;
•to compare the different types of modern dance, to determine their characteristics;
• to consider the psycho-physiological reflections in the dance;
• to identify the criteria by which you can track the changes in the life and health of the teenager;
• to conduct monitoring changes in practice:
• to identify the role of modern dance in the development of human personality.
The hypothesis of the study is as follows. You should dance if you want to improve your health and increase your self-esteem.
The theoretical base for the research were the works of Labunskaya, Bebik, and Stark, they studied dance-therapy.
When writing the work we used such method of research as literature study, questionnaire, watching, comparison and analysis.
The practical significance of our work is to summarize the information that you can effectively use in practice.
The work consists of an introduction, 2 chapters, conclusion applications and list of references.
Dance is a very special kind of art. It’s not only a fun, enjoyable way of pastime. Turning to history, we find out that religious dance action took place within the walls of churches and temples. Long before, a ritual dance was performed on the ground, where the sacred circle was drawn, symbolizing the angels dancing in the celestial spheres around the throne of God. This idea is the basis for many modern dances with circular motions. Shamans and priests put themselves in the state of trance and meditation through music and dance. Dance has always been a fusion of spirit and movement.
The very first dances were dedicated to the heavenly bodies: the rising and setting of the sun, the moon, the movement of the stars. Dance, dedicated to the gods, were performed in temples during certain times of the year. They demanded high perfection of mind and body and were performed by priests. Spiritual development went along with the physical. Harmony of lines and beauty of the body were as highly esteemed as spiritual development [10].
People danced in all times, in joy and in sorrow, before hunt and after it, on the wedding day, on the day of birth and the day of death. Dances in groups taught to understand each other without words, and it gave a sense of unity and harmony to all dancers.
All kinds of dances originated from the same root, and then they changed according to the time and circumstances. And finally they divided into east and west trends. In the East, a man is a part of Nature. That is why eastern dances are a kind of meditation. They are more harmonious and aesthetically fascinating than modern dances of the Western world.
Nowadays it is fashionable to dance. The modern entertainment industry, the dance industry, in particular, has become a powerful weapon of psychological pressure. A large number of teens who go to clubs, dance schools, dance groups learn how to dance.
Classification of modern dance [11] is often reduced to the following trends:
Hip-hop
Locking
Popping
Breaking
House
Each of them has its own rhythm, history, particular features. (appendix 1)
Hip-hop dance refers to a street dance style primarily performed to hip-hop music or as a part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles which were created in the 1970s in the United States [2]. Classically trained dancers developed studio styles in order to create choreography from the hip-hop dances that were performed on the street. Because of this development, hip-hop dance is practiced in both dance studios and outdoor spaces.
Most teenagers like hip-hop. Experts identify that it consists of three parts: music, dance and the visual action. The beauty of hip- hop is that this style gives the opportunity to express oneself.
What distinguishes hip-hop dance from other forms of dance? It is the ability to complete free improvisation with the possibility of self-expression. Dancers often arrange battles that are formal or informal freestyle competitions. Dancers organize themselves in circle, and then they come into the circle one after another and show their dancing skills, their feeling of the music. Crews, freestyling, and battles are identifiers of this style. Hip-hop dance can be a form of entertainment or a hobby.
As breaking, locking, and popping gained popularity in the 1980s, hip-hop social dancing (party dancing) was developing. Novelty and fad dances such as the Roger Rabbit, the Cabbage Patch, and the Worm appeared in the 1980s followed by the Humpty dance and the Running Man in the 1990s. The modern music was the driving force in the development of these dances. For example, the 1980s rap group Gucci Crew II had a song called "The Cabbage Patch" later one of the movement got the same name. 2000s era social dances include the Cha Cha Slide, the Cat Daddy, and the Dougie.
American films, television shows, and the Internet had contributed to introducing hip-hop dance outside the United States. Since that time dance competitions were held abroad. Europe host several international hip-hop competitions such as the UK B-Boy Championships, Juste Debout, and EuroBattle. Australia host a team-based competition called World Supremacy Battlegrounds and Japan host a two-on-two competition called World Dance Colosseum.
At the international level, hip-hop heavily influenced by France and South Korea. France has a style tectonic, dance style house in Paris, largely borrowed from popping and breaking. France is also the home of international dance competitions Juste Debout, which are sponsored by the government, and appear annually on Korean television.
Locking, originally called Campbellocking, was created in 1969 in Los Angeles, California by Don "Campbellock" Campbell and popularized by his crew The Lockers [2]. The basis of dance he took of the robot, which were performed with complete isolation and control of the body, and mixed them with dynamic movements and precise stop, and then a rapid transition to the next move, adding comic mime clown, and their costumes.
Locking looks similar to popping, and the two are frequently confused by the casual observer. In locking, dancers hold their positions longer. The lock is the primary move used in locking. It is "similar to a freeze or a sudden pause."
A locker's dancing is characterized by frequently locking in place and after a brief freeze moving again. It is incorrect to call locking "pop-locking". Locking is more playful and character-driven, whereas popping is more illusory. Locking has specific dance moves that distinguish it from popping and other funk styles. In the 2006 book Total Chaos, hip-hop historian Jorge "Popmaster Fabel" Pabon lists some of these moves which include "the lock, points, skeeter [rabbits], scooby doos, stop 'n go, which-away, and the fancies." According to Dance Spirit magazine, a dancer cannot perform both locking and popping simultaneously.
Thanks to a well-known choreographer Tony Basil, who put television shows, this dance quickly gained popularity and became known with new dance TV show “Soul Train» Don and his partner, Damita Jo Freeman, made a tour of the country with this show.
At the 2009 World Hip Hop Dance Championships, Basil became the first female recipient of the Living Legend Award in honor of her role in giving locking commercial exposure.
Popping was created in Fresno, California in the 1970s and popularized by Samuel "Boogaloo Sam" Solomon and his crew the Electric Boogaloos. It is based on the technique of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in a dancer's body, referred to as a pop or a hit. Each hit should be synchronized to the rhythm and beats of the music. Popping is also used as an umbrella term to refer to a wide range of closely related illusionary dance styles such as strobing, liquid, animation, twisto-flex, and waving. Dancers often integrate these styles with standard popping to create a more varied performance. In all of these subgenres it appears to the spectator that the body is popping. The difference between each subgenre is how exaggerated the popping is. In liquid, the body movements look like water. The popping is so smooth that the movements do not look like popping at all; they look fluid. The opposite of this is strobing (also called ticking) in which the movements are staccato and jerky.
Popping as an umbrella term also includes floating, gliding, and sliding [11]. These are lower body dances performed with little to no movements in the chest or arms. In floating, gliding, and sliding a dancer appears as if they are drifting across the floor on ice. Opposite from gliding is tutting, an upper body dance that uses the arms, hands, and wrists to form right angles and create geometric box-like shapes. Tutting can be done primarily with the fingers rather than the arms. This method is called finger tutting. In both variations the movements are intricate, linear, and form 90° or 45° angles. In practice, tutting looks like the characters on the art of ancient Egypt, hence the name—a reference to King Tut.
Breaking or b-boying - was founded in the Bronx, New York in the early 1970s. Africa Bambatta was an American DJ, who classified the breaking as one of the five areas of hip-hop culture, along with mcing, djing, graffiti and knowledge.
In addition to African Americans, who are considered the founders of the style were Hispanics (specifically Puerto Ricans) who support and maintain the style in the late 70-s, when it was believed that it had started to fade.
There are some specific features of breaking : Toprock or footwork, the steps that are performed in a standing position; downrock - footwork, that is executed on the ground with the use of hands to support your weight; freezs - a stop in a beautiful pose, performed while standing on his hands. Transitions from toprock to downrock called «drops» (decline).
Competitions in breaking are held in the form of battles. Dancers compete 1x1, that is one team against another team or one b-boy or b-girl against another. Opponents do a challenge, they are often very aggressive, in order to confuse the opponent and crush him mentally.
In 1981, there was a battle between the 2 teams of the legendary Rock Steady Crew and Dynamic Rockers. This event was so vivid and impressive that was published in the New York Times, Village Voice, Daily News, National Geographic and local news stations.
House is a mix of different styles of club dance, which are performed to electronic music [2]. The roots of this trend originated in Chicago 70s, but it has received further development in the nightclubs of New York.
Like hip-hop, this dance was established by African-Americans and Hispanics, who often took to the streets and just improvise new, experimental bits.
This style is characterized by vigorous, rapid and complex footwork with smooth, floating body movements.
The basis is a quick jacking undulation body, starting with the pelvis. Visually has created a ripple effect that matches the beat of the music, and repeated several times. Master the technical execution of the movement - the most important task in the house.
It combines the acrobatic skills and lower break, it can be visually compared with b-boying, but the movement will be noticeably softer and more plastic. Besides the basic elements in the style of house there are movements from other dance and even martial destinations such as: capoeira, tap, jazz, bebop and salsa, vogue, waacking and hustle. Their combination allows us to dance a variety of forming their own sub genres: skating, stomping and shuffling
Mr. Wiggles’ real name is Stephen Clemente. Today he is one of the most dynamic figures in the culture of hip-hop. He is a member of the team with the world famous: Rock Steady Crew and Electric Boogaloos. Stephen Clemente is multi - talented virtuoso, known and respected all over the world as a dancer, actor, choreographer, producer and graffiti artist.
According to Ben Higa, a writer for the magazine ‘Rap Pages”: «Mr. Wiggles is a hip-hop master of all trades. He is an expert in popping, locking, breaking, painting graffiti.» As a child, he started with movements depicting Robot. When he was a child he was influenced by his older sister Wanda. He started dancing with the boy, who lived next door to him, and after the neighbor boy made some friezes and elements on the ground, he wanted to be a bboy.

Les Twins is a hip-hop dance duo of twin brothers, Laurent and Larry Bourgeois from Sarcelles, France.
Lauren and Larry are active members of various famous dance competitions. Some of the most significant in their biography is Juste Debout. They gained popularity in it and won the first place in 2011. Then t was the Battle of Styles, y also had success. Lauren and Larry are from a very large family, with 18 brothers and sisters. as twins. Nine of them are also involved in dancing.
Thanks to his elder brother, Larry and Laurent wear trousers backward. He punished them for being naughty when they were little. Their dancing
Trainings took place in the streets of Paris, where the twins began to participate in the battles. Michael Jackson had a great influence on their style, then the family, of course, their team and coach Abib «playmo» Kobe.
Despite the fact that the styles of the brothers are remarkably similar, in the dance they can be distinguished by a special sign. Larry demonstrates the incredible energy and active feet, while Lauren is known for its fluidity and unimaginable movements.
He is a native of Brooklyn, and nearly all his life is devoted to dancing. He loves to travel in Russia. He comes here very often. In dance, he mixes hip-hop and house, creating a unique style.

This is a mix of many styles, such as step, jazz, hip-hop, funk, locking, popping and so on... He teaches in Asia (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea), Europe and America, trying to keep house culture for future generations of dancers.
Everyone knows that every man has his gait, his gestures and facial expressions. These features are unique and change very little over the years, so we can find a familiar person, even without seeing his face. More than that, each person has his own way of dancing, a different set of movements, his own way of moving around in space. But dislike gait, gestures, facial expression, dance is the social nature of man and it is dependent to fashion
The dance reflects the personality unconsciously and if you look attentively you can tell a lot about the character of the dancer, his habits, fears, especially the interaction with different people and with himself, his fantasies, attitudes toward the world, and much more. [1] Most people are free to dance without preheating. But shy people never dance (or very rarely).
People who believe in themselves and expand their activities in life, usually dance with wide sweeping motion, often harsh, the dance move in space with a raised head, often colliding with others. They can sing, interact with others and invite to dance. Those who want to attract attention, usually wear bright and extraordinary clothes, have a lot of makeup, and dance in the center of the circle. Their movements are learned patterns. They can choose a partner and actively demonstrate their skills on the background, closely tracking the reaction of others. They engage in brief eye contact with others, often smiling, showing their goodwill.
In most cases, people dance in a very modest way, arms are bent at the elbows and fists are clenched, eyes directed either to the floor or walking around. Speaking of pairing dance, there are also some patterns. People accustomed to lead, are persistent, unable to listen to others always take the initiative moves into their own hands.
The distance between two dancing shows the rate of confidence, intimacy and relationship to the partner in particular and people in general. If during the partner dance you always go back, then it may be evident that you have subconscious fear of establishing and maintaining long-term relationships. On the contrary, the constant movement forward to a partner, says about the rapid relationship in your life, that often frightens and repels unconsciously.
Of course, there are always exceptions, and we can speak about the development of certain qualities, personality traits and behavior only in case that these movements, gestures are present in most of your dancing and obvious to others.
Now we’d like to tell you about "dancing" parts of the body. If you carefully look at the dancing man, it can be seen that certain parts move more often than others. They are hands and feet, then the hip and head, almost never - back, neck and shoulders. [1] The symbolic interpretation of it is as follows:
- Hands symbolize the ability to social contacts and their character (the fists mean aggressiveness and free palms - goodwill);
- Legs –the stability of social status;
- Hips - the ability to be independent;
- Head is the symbol of rationality, critical attitude;
- Neck - in every sense of control (for themselves, people, emotions and behavior);
- Back - sincerity, overload;
- Shoulders - responsibility (especially for others).
If during dance the right side of the body is more mobile it says about the manifestation of male features and qualities such as perseverance, aggressiveness, commitment, activity, stiffness, consistency. If the left part is more active it shows the prevailing of female qualities such as flexibility, patience, submission, gentleness and intuitiveness.
And, of course, the less movements are coordinated, the more a person is disharmonious. When watching different people dancing you may notice that it is very different thing to dance in a beautiful way and to dance in a balanced and harmonious way. It is worth noting that you can always change your dance in order to change your character, to get new character features. It is also important to remember that the most important thing in life is a person and dance can help to develop all features that he wants!
The dance is a very old method for expression of all the accumulated inner emotions. The dance reflects the physical, mental and aesthetic beauty.
The dance as a mean of therapy appeared in our country in the 50s. [9] The clinics actively implemented such techniques. Dancing therapy used as a complementary treatment of mental illness. It was especially popular in the 60s. It became a popular and effective method of treatment and prevention of mental illness. These classes were held in large groups.
In the 70 s the research was conducted to understand how dance affects the human psyche. It was found that a person can get rid of many illnesses through dance.
Human experience, whether positive or negative influence the health in the form of muscle tension. The essence of this therapy is that any psychological trauma does not give a man possibility to express all his emotions. The result of it is the muscle clamp. A huge amount of energy is spent on this clip. During the dance there is a reduction of muscle clamp. This dance gives people an opportunity to express himself. With the help of dance it becomes easier to communicate with other people.
The maximum efficiency of this therapy is when it is held in group classes. This method allows a person to understand himself, to know the characteristics of the body. Such knowledge leads to the fact that people begin to feel themselves comfortable in the world around them. Man gets new positive emotions, his physical state as well as the emotional one becomes much better.
These classes with teenagers help to increase their self-esteem, the confidence and positive thinking. Having learnt new movement in dance, teens learn new different feelings. Dance is a wonderful occasion to manifest themselves.
Of course, the dance maintains slim figure, helps to lose weight, strengthens muscles, develops flexibility, sets the body on motor activity, balances it, and, finally, gives self-confidence and attractiveness. [5]
If you have any problems with the gastrointestinal tract, belly dance classes will probably help you. These classes will help you not only with stomach pain but also solve he back problems that most people have. We cannot forget the influence of oriental dance on the female body. Classes such as tango dance and rumba relieve you from pain in the joints, strengthen all muscle groups, and will help you to stay in shape, full of strength and energy.
With active movement blood circulation improves, lung capacity increases, the general condition improves and the nervous system becomes more stable. Dancing trains your coordination, promotes good posture and a beautiful gait.
Dancing develop respiratory system of the human body. Dance classes really help to get rid of regular colds, bronchitis, and even make it easier for the disease in people suffering from asthma attacks.
Dancing prolongs life, helps to maintain the general tone and it can save person’s efficiency and cheerfulness up to the last days of life.
Today, dance is of great interest. This fact is proved by the overcrowded groups of Latin dance, flamenco, tango, etc. A person instinctively seeks a place where he can express the full range of emotions without fear of condemnation! [7]
Dance is used to express the full range of human emotions, thoughts and attitudes. When the dance is performed, the feelings are expressed through a series of highly structured movements. When the dance is used in therapy, feelings are y released through the free movement and improvisation. Dance is a communication through movements, so there is no standard dance forms in the dance therapy, and all forms can be used for personal expression: primitive tribe dances, folk dance, waltz, rock, polka.
During dance classes self-esteem of the participants is increasing. Dance can make an image of your body more attractive, which is directly associated with more positive way of '' I-conception''. By learning new movements a person learns new feelings.
Dance therapy is also used for the development of social skills. Dance movements are peculiar means of communication with others. The conditions are made in groups for the stimulation of creative potential, and a person can seek his own style of communication and self-expression together with the coach and other members of the group.
Man tries to express himself even in his gait, as if he carries himself, showing his magnificence. In addition to physical development, dance enables man to cope with the psychological complexes.[3] The more you go to the dance classes, the deeper you come into the science of dance, the more free and relaxed your movements in the dance are. And as a result it leads to self-realization and self-expression at the level of the deep instincts.
Dance is always a liberation, self-expression, "flight." Improvisation lets a person be both spontaneous and deliberate. It provides an opportunity to express himself in art, feel the joy of movement, harmony of the body with music and rhythm. Improvisation connects the inner and outer world into one
Improvisation is the choice of young, talented dancers and choreographers. Dance improvisation is a special attitude to the body, a special way of thinking. It requires constant developing of the personality, the deep inner workings of the dancers themselves. All these facts result in bright, expressive and very personal way of dancing.
Speaking about personal achievements of dancers we should underline that the main aim of every dancer is to take part in some important international championships or battles. We’d like to tell about some of them.[2]
Juste Debout is the type of competition of street dance, which takes place annually in France. It has four categories in the format of "two by two" they are locking, popping, house and hip-hop and 2 categories in the format of "one by one" that is experimental and top rock. The organizer is Bruce "Ykanji" Zone; he is also founder of the school to train professional dancers of hip hop style. The competition involves a couple of dancers. Battle is arranged between two pairs, in which each dancer in turn is trying to "over dance" his opponents in their dance category.
Guest DJs are responsible for music at competitions. No one knows under what music he will dance.
Each Battle consists of eight rounds. The dancers took turns speaking to an audience and opponents. After each participant has performed 2 times, the judges choose a winning team, which will take part in later competition. At the final there are the best two couples who are struggling to win in the category of dance.
In addition to the competitions the program includes demonstration of performances of judges and invited guests, as well as a variety of parties and events.
Hip Hop International is the world's main competition for the hip-hop dancers. It is held since 2002. Qualifying rounds are held in each country, including Russia, and the final competition traditionally takes place in Las Vegas. Competitions are held in two categories: best team and the best dancer. In team competition, there are 4 age groups: 7-12 years, 12-18 years, 18 years or older. There is also an open category where people can participate with different ages. Each team may have a membership of 5 to 9 persons and must show in their performance three different styles of hip-hop.
Long ago, when I was a child, I watched some films about dances ("Break Dance" and "Step up"), I was struck by the beauty of dance, movements, plastic of dancers. Since that time I had a desire to dance as beautiful as they did. Once a dance studio of modern dances «BRANDNEWSCHOOL» opened in our city and I immediately came to the first introductory lesson. I never missed a class, I followed my coach’s advises (appendix 2) attended master classes by world dance stars (appendix 3). All this gave me great pleasure.
Then I began to notice that not only my body changed, I became more sociable, more self-confident. I wondered what was the reason for it. I watched the other teens who just started to go to dance classes. The process of watching lasted for 6 months before significant changes began to appear.
First I came across the fact that some people have stereotypes about modern dances. The main of them are:
1) I want to learn to dance, but I'm afraid to start to go to the dance classes, I may fail.
2) It is hard to learn to dance and natural predisposition to dance is needed.
3) Lack of a sense of rhythm is the reason for not going to dancing lessons.
There were open classes in the dance studio BrandNewSchool where any person could come and try themselves as a dancer.
My group has the following age and social characteristics.
The age of participants is from thirteen to nineteen.
6 teens are about 13-14. 9 teens are about 16-17. And 10 teen are from 18 to 19.
They are occupied in studying at schools (8 teens), colleges (7 teens) and institutions of higher education (4 teens). 6 of them work.
Since the group consists of young people of different ages and occupations, it was especially interesting to see how the process of changes went on.
The reasons why they started to attend dancing classes were very different:
4 teens wanted to keep fit, 3 teens had nothing to do. 4 participants wanted to please a girl, 2 teens did it for the company. 10 teenagers wanted to learn to dance beautifully and 2 teens tried to relax with the help of dances.
So we can make a conclusion that
1) The dance is a good way to spend time;
2) Dance improves fitness;
3) Friends are united in the dance together;
4) Dance promotes mental relaxation;
5) Dance increases self-esteem;
6) The dance is a means of self-affirmation.
I noticed that most of the participants came to class tired, frustrated because of some factors.
25 people came to the dancing class.
Upset - 8 teens (troubles at school)
Frustrated - 2 teens (a quarrel with a girl)
Nervous – 4 persons (due to transport)
Tired - 3 persons (only freed after work)
With a positive attitude - 5 persons (just optimists)
Energetic - 3 teens (came from home)
But after the dance class the situation changed for the better. They became friendlier, and left the class in a good mood.
Speaking about physical form of dancers I should say that it doesn’t matter.
Only 2 teenagers out of 25 attended sport classes before. This difference was noticed only in the first 4 times. Then, the difference was less and less noticeable. After 2 months of regular training all members of dance class managed to do all kinds of exercises at the same level.
Head drawn into his shoulders, hesitant gait, they sullen, unsmiling. These teens even hesitate to look at myself in the mirror. For quite a long time been in the back. The main difficulty for them was overcoming his own complexes. When they attended training for a long time and worked traffic to perfection, they become more liberated, and even began to aspire to rise in training in the first rows.
I noticed three groups of teenagers. They differed by their self-esteem. Those with low self-esteem were not fully confident in their abilities and had some fears that they could not move in the dance in a nice way. Their heads were drawn into the shoulders, they were sullen, unsmiling. These teens even hesitate to look at themselves in the mirror. For quite a long time they were in the back rows. The main difficulty for them was overcoming their complexes.
There was also a group of young people with high self-esteem. These teenagers were arrogant, too self-confident. They could not accept the fact that their expectations and their actual capabilities were different. Criticism against them led to scandals. These teens needed even more time than the first group, to assess their successes and failures adequately.
Most of the teenagers had adequate self-esteem. They equally recognized both their advantages and disadvantages. Self-confidence allows a person to adjust the requirements themselves and assess their own capabilities for the various life situations correctly. A confident person is distinguished by determination, consistently implement them. A confident person is critical of the mistakes by analyzing their causes, in order not to repeat them again. Of course, these young people were easier to work with.
After some time, a set of basic movements was mastered by all members of the group. As a result all teenagers felt comfortable when dancing. There were no longer too shy or too arrogant teens. All of them had equal opportunity to participate in a friendly competition at the end of the class.
When young people came to dance, everyone had their own reasons. Everyone tried to reach his own aim. There were a lot of difficulties, failures. But everyone managed to do it. And after six months, each member of dance class received the first results.
Become more self -confident in yourself - 3 people
Heighten self-esteem - 4 people
Established themselves among friends - 4 people
Make friends with a girl - 6 people
Take part in international competitions - 2 people
Improved their physical condition - 25 people
Had a good time - 25 people
Were able to dance to express their internal state - 25 people
Talking about personal achievements, I want to talk about the success of our coach. He took part in different kinds of competition: regional and international and succeeded in popping, hip-hop, house and breaking.

In conclusion, we note that all people can dance. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional dancer or not. We must love ourselves as we are. It is a necessary condition for other changes. The most important thing in the creative process of creating a dance is to enter the state. Expressive gestures make people perfect.
We create a space in which we live, playing a variety of situations and experiences. How long is the music, so long the dance lasts. The external form reflects the internal motivation. You can dance the love, passion, pain, birth and death.
Dancing is great, because every person can move or dance, no matter what is his age, sex, social status, education, values, attitudes, and even health. Dance can diagnose personality, identify patterns of movement, muscle clamps, problem areas.
Dance helps to relieve stress, reduce anxiety, aggressiveness, releasing pent-up, repressed feelings and emotions, learn new movements that promote effective communication with each other, the world, human beings;
Dance contributes to the manifestation of personality, sincerity, and self- acceptance. It helps to increase self-esteem, become self-confident, a person becomes more successful, attractive and satisfied.
Dance is the reflection of our private world , in which we are healthy and happy and in harmony with ourselves.

Interview with Buddha Stretch.
27/10/2012
- Hello, I’m Buddha Stretch Buddha Stretch, from Brooklyn, New York. I represent the team «Elite force», I have been dancing in it since its foundation.
- Buddha, you are considered to be one of the founders of Hip-Hop style. How do you feel about this fact?
- Well, I added freestyle to hip-hop dance. After all, hip hop is a whole culture, it’s not just dance. And the culture is the way you dance, the way we move, its - the way we dress, we think, even the way we eat! I want to say that hip-hop is the way you live.
- How did you begin to dance, tell a little bit?
- Actually, I started with the popping and b-boying, and then Hip-Hop freestyle was born out of b-boying and popping. Then I got into House and Locking. At first I was alone and danced Electric Buggie. Then I started to dance popping and breaking.
- And are all members of your family fond of dancing?
- Yes, of course, in my family, dance is an ordinal thing. The members of my family don’t look at me like at the world famous dancer. They even urged on me often saying “ you are not a very perfect dancer at all”. Though everyone in my family knows how to dance. And you must understand that the dance is a part of our life and our culture.
- What inspired you and is inspiring now?
- I was very inspired by the way the other people train, I watched James Brown, and Robert Chila. When I was a child, I repeated the motion of electric boogie after him . I also watched a lot of breaking teams. And, of course, dancing with my friends in the team of «Elite force» we inspire each other.
- If you had to choose from a variety of styles: Hip-Hop, Locking, Popping, House what style would you prefer?
- I love Locking, because here you can express your feelings better. But my favorite style is, of course, hip-hop and popping, because I started with them. This is the base of modern dance. Hip-Hop is my favorite style. Although at the moment I prefer Locking because all these movements and feelings carry so much positive! In general, Locking is the dance of fun, it makes you happy!
- Everyone has a dream, what is yours?
- My personal dream is to do everything at the best level. As you know, I teach people to enjoy life through dance and I would like to bring all people together. After all, this is the main idea of Hip-Hop. Hip-hop connects people’s lives with the help of music, and the music is the universal language of the world, and dance is an interpreter from this language. I guess this is my dream. I want music to bring more and more people together, no matter what country they are from, we all are people.
