Good morning, dear ladies and gentlemen! We all study at school №2 in the cadet class. This year cadet’s movement in Dubna celebrates 10 year anniversary and we would like to tell you about the history of cadets in our country and in our town
For the first time in the history of Dubna the cadet class was opened on the first of September, 2003. 17 young boys and 6 girls were accepted in the first cadet class. Its creation is not the invention of something new; it is just a historical return to our backgrounds. (
Please, look at the screen; you can see the great and well-known people of our country from the 18th century till the 21st century. Among them are Kornilov, Kutuzov, Nachimov, Lermontov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tutchev, Yablochkov, Radishchev, Glaskov, Ivanov. But what connects all these writers, musicians, cosmonauts, militaries, poets, public figures? They all studied in cadet classes (corps) as well as we today.
But let’s come back to the aims of our research.
The main aim was to examine the history and the development of cadet’s classes or corps in our country from the first days of its appearance till our time;
Next aim was to find out why school №2 was chosen;
And at least, to prove that such studying gives a good start for future life.
Today, more than ever, our country needs honest and courageous people, who truly love the country and are ready to do their best (no matter in military, literature or science fields) People who are proud and respect our country!
But where to find such high ideas and principles, if not in the past?
The original French “Corps of Cadets “was formed by king Louis XIII for younger sons of gentry. The idea of a school for young boys who would later serve in the army soon spread around Europe and similar schools were soon formed in other countries. The first military corps was made in Prussia by Fridrich the Great. Almost at the same time in Russia similar military educational institutions were formed by Peter the Great. They were called garnison schools for young boys (at the age of 7 they began their studying and at the age of 15they entered the army)
Next step was made by Anna Ivanovna Romanova in 1731with the help of Burkhard Christoph von Munnich, first cadets corps was organized. Then appeared land Шляхетный, naval Шляхетный, artillery and engineering Шляхетный, page corps.
The cadet’s development of the 19th century is connected with Alexander and Nicholas the 1st . In 1813 was opened the 1st Siberian Cadet corps. And from 1825 till 1855 eight more corps were opened. You can read their names on the screen.
Cadet classes in Russia were the incomparable special world which left strong spirit of patriotic identity, believe in common future, love to the Motherland.
In Soviet period cadet classes, unfortunately, were disbanded. And its rebirth started only in the Russian Federation in 1992 in various types: the cadet school, cadet boarding school, and cadet classes in ordinary school. As for example, at school №2! But why school №2? Working with school archives , we have found very interesting things:
We have also found very interesting photos of the past, which clearly demonstrate the link of time. Please compare (слайд 15-16). So as you can see school №2 was a reasonable choice.
What is the cadet today? What does it give to the young boys and girls? Do we need such classes? We polled the pupils of our school from 8-10th form. The first question was: What does the word “patriotism” mean? The results you can see on the screen
" Love to the Motherland" (86%)
“Love to the family, native, close” (65%).
"Love to the hometown, the village" (42%)
"Love to the Russian culture" (38%)
"Love to school" (32%)
"Revival of traditions of the Russian state" ( 27%)
"Aspiration to social justice" (21%)
For the majority of pupils the word "patriotism", first of all, is identified with "the small Homeland" - a family, relatives, the city, the village, the house. These values are the center of patriotism at our school and modern Russian society.
Next our question was: “Serve or not to serve”?
The results are rather positive! Despite of the negative attitudes towards army service in modern society, the pupils of our school want to pay the solder’s duty!
So, what is cadet’s life? What does cadet brotherhood give? More than 200 boys and girls received a good start to independent life. From joint affairs, trips and excursions, till participations in other different arrangements : such as the game “Orlenok”, the meeting of cadet classes of Moscow region in Momino. All these help them to make their conscious choice of profession and understand their force and opportunities.
We have tried to analyze the future life of the cadet’s class leavers on this diagram:
purple part- is the number of those leavers who served in the army
blue - those who connected their lives with military field
green- those who entered others universities
(30-35) On the next slides you can see some of our graduates who connected their lives with military forces, army, police.
So, Cadets of the 21st century -
–are defenders of our Motherland,
- as well as cadets of the last centuries they are ready to give all the efforts to the Homeland.
Not necessary, that all cadets will connect their lives with army or military service. But we are sure that years in cadet class will leave only positive emotions in our hearts and soils. Thanks for your attention
Are you going to connect your life with military service?
What does such studying give to you?
What subjects do you study?
Is interesting to study in such class?
From where did you get such information? We worked with achieves, administration of the school, class teacher, at school we also have so to say honorable board with our leavers
What such school can give for young children? We all study on examples, and when there are good examples in front of you- it is very good, they learn to respect their country. We should learn to do it from primary school!
Name the last interesting meet or happening at your life? The meeting with veterans of 2 great war! they told very interesting stories and facts and were happy that we respect them, remember, help.
What about boys? Are they different? Of course, they are more attentive, physically developed, they wear form- on special occasions full dress, in ordinary days black trousers, white shirts, they look after their appearance.
