Flag of Ireland This is the official flag of the Republic of Ireland. This flag is seen by some nationalists as the flag of the whole island. The green symbolizes the Gaelic community in Ireland, the orange represents the Orange community in Ireland, the white represents peace between them.

Geography The western landscape mostly consists of rugged cliffs, hills and mountains. The central lowlands are extensively covered with glacial deposits of clay and sand, as well as significant areas of bog land and several lakes. The highest point is Carrantuohill (1,038 m/3,406 ft), located in the Macgillycuddy's Reeks mountain range in the southwest. The river Shannon, which traverses the central lowlands, is the longest river in Ireland at 386 km in length. The west е rn coast is more rugged than the eastern, with numerous islands, peninsulas, headlands and bays .
