The object of the research is the process of learning younger students in cooperative groups in English lessons of a secondary school.
The subject of the research is the effectiveness of cooperative learning technology in the formation of universal learning activities at English lessons in primary school.
The purpose of the research is to prove the effectiveness of cooperative learning technology for the development of universal learning activities of younger schoolchildren when teaching English
The used methods: studying and generalizing the best pedagogical experience, observation, pedagogical design, pedagogical experiment, testing, graphical method of displaying the results of the study.
The structure of the research is an introduction, the leading part which includes two chapters, a conclusion, a list of references and appendices.
The introduction reveals the relevance of the research, defines the purpose, research objectives, its object, subject and the key research methods.
In the first chapter the main theoretical aspects of the usage of cooperative learning technology are revealed, such as the concept of the technology of cooperative learning, universal learning activities, types of cooperative learning technology, its foundations and peculiarities of the usage for development of universal learning skills at the lessons in primary school.
The second chapter describes the results of experimental work on the usage of cooperative learning technology at English lessons in primary school, which was conducted on the basis of the state budgetary educational school Number 604 of Pushkin district, Saint Petersburg and some practical recommendations for using of cooperative learning technology at English lessons are presented.
In the conclusion of the research the general results of the entire study are described.
The results of the study show that the usage of cooperative learning technology is effective in the formation of subject, meta-subject (communicative, cognitive, regulatory) and personal universal learning activities. The experiment displays a positive dynamics of subject universal learning activities, students' skills in learning reading, dialogic and monologic speech. Observations at the lessons with the use of cooperative learning technology confirm the formation of meta-subject universal learning activities, such as to use speech means adequately in order to solve a communicative strategy, realize goal-setting, step-by-step and final control, demonstrate cognitive ability and search for information and others.
